Honda Prelude

The Honda Prelude is a two-door sports coupe produced from 1978 to 2001 by the Japanese automaker Honda. This car during its production run served as a testbed for a number of features that would eventually be commonplace for the rest of the Honda line: examples include double-wishbone suspension, four-wheel steering, fuel injection, VTEC (after the Acura NSX), and ATTS.

91 Honda prelude hazard fuse blowing repeatedly. Had my foot under the left hand side of the driver side dash before problem occurred.?

Fuses That "Blow" Repeatedly

Obviously your foot "rearranged" some of the wiring there which resulted in causing a "short circuit" condition.

Without being able to "hands on" troubleshoot the circuit served by the repeatedly blowing fuse, none of us can identify the specific defect which is causing your problem.

Therefore, the following generic answer can be applied to any electrical circuit, whether in a vehicle, or in a building, whether direct current [DC], or alternating current [AC].

Fuses [and Circuit Breakers] are safety devices designed and installed in electrical circuits TO PROTECT the conductors [wires] and other components from short circuit conditions and/or overload conditions which cause an extremely large flow of electrical current [measured in Amperes], which causes overheating of the conductors that results in damage to the insulation and the conductors.

And in a worst case scenario, the probability of a FIRE which could destroy the vehicle, house, or other structure in which the circuit is located.

When a fuse or Circuit Breaker [and replacement fuses, or repeatedly "tripping" Circuit Breakers] "blow," especially if it happens repeatedly, is an indication of an UNSAFE CONDITION in that circuit, usually a short.

The fuse or circuit breaker is doing what it was designed, intended, and installed to do, that is to protect the conductors and components of the circuit which it serves.

The proper "fix" for this issue is for a qualified technician, who knows what he or she is doing, to troubleshoot the involved circuit, find and identify the defect, and make proper repair [s], BEFORE replacing the fuse again [with the properly sized fuse or before resetting a circuit breaker].

Some ignorant few people will suggest installing a larger fuse or breaker to solve the problem, BUT that will only increase the hazard, not correct it.

Do not follow "bad" advice by installing a larger fuse in a misguided attempt to correct the problem. To install an oversized fuse would almost guarantee damage to the wiring and the probability of an electrical system fire.

How do you fix digital gas and temperature gage on a 1992 Honda Prelude?

There is a circuit board that costs 773.00 from the dealership. Best bet is to find one at the junk yard to save cost. But first check all fuses. If they are all good that will be your next step.

Will a 2000 Honda Prelude base model engine fit into a 1993 Honda Prelude 93 Honda Prelude?

Not without electrical work. The 1997+ Preludes have OBD2 wire harness while the 92-96 Have OBD1. Different wire harness/sensors/ecu.

What parts do you need to replace a throttle position sensor?

You need only the new tps. If your asking how to remove than you need a 10 mm socket to remove the engine cover and a Screwdriver (can be Phillips or flathead) to remove the sensor. Also pliers to remove the clip holding the plug on the sensor

What could cause a surging idle on a 95 Honda Prelude?

Most comon cause is a vacuum leak but an idle surge could be caused by a number of issues. Check your tps and map sensors. Check for leaks around the throttle body.

An easy but not always accurate way to check for leaks is to spray throttle body cleaner in short bursts on the area of a suspected leak. Any changes in idle should indicate a vacuum leak.

How do you remove and reinstall headlight bulb on Honda shadow spirit?

Step 1- Remove headlight retaining ring. This is held on by the two 8mm Hex head bolts. Take out the 8mm hex bolts and the headlight flips up and out. The Phillips screws are for adjustment only. Don't mess with these!

Step 2-Unhook the headlight connector. Just pull it off the headlight.

Step 3- Take off the dust cover.

Step 4- Undo the headlight bulb retainer. There is a trick to this I can't really explain but it has to do with unhooking the small tension wires.

Step 5- The bulb should come out. Put everything back together in reverse order.

Where is the multiplex control unit on a 1999 Honda Prelude?

You'll need to pop off the Passenger Kick Panel, and pull back a bit of carpet, and its located right on top of the ABS Unit, its a small black box, with 2 blue plugs, and its held on by 1 10mm bolt. Its pretty quick and easy.

Where is the transmission control module in a 97 Honda Prelude?

Inside the car, on the passenger side in the front, if you pull up the carpet where your feet go, you'll see a metal piece that angles up where you would rest your feet. the tcm is bolted on to the back side of that metal plate.

I just took mine off on my 97 prelude so I'm pretty sure about this!
