When did Isuzu quit making trucks?
Isuzu stopped making trucks in 2008.
Back in the 1990s, Isuzu originally sold both trucks/SUVs and cars, however their car sales were over-shadowed by the SUV sales. Thus, they stopped making cars in the 1990s. Early in the 2000s, Isuzu's SUV sales plummeted on their SUVs which was no surprise as better technology was coming out from other manufacturers. They went from selling 100,000 vehicles in 1999 to just 7,000 in 2008. This is why they stopped making their SUVs.
Is the Isuzu 4ZD1 cylinder head the same as the 4ZE1?
The answer is no. The 4ZE1 cylinder head has much larger combustion chambers which means you lose most of the engine compression if fitted to a 4ZD1, also the
diameter of the hole where the distributor fits into the head is smaller on the 4ZD1.

Where is the PCV valve located on an 84 Isuzu pup?
Some early Isuzu engines actually did not have a PCV valve, they used a metered orifice in a vacuum line from the valve cover to the air cleaner. This was not very effective if the engine had any blowby, so it wasn't used on later engines.
What does the Ignition Coil Resistor do?
On a point ignition system, the resistor will reduce the incoming voltage to the coil from 14 volts when the charging system is active, to about 9 volts. At a 9 volt level the ignition points will survive for a longer time before pitting and burning.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
actually this is for the fact that when you are starting (the starter is running) a car/truck available voltage drops down because of the electrical load from the starter to about 9 volts. this would be a problem if the ignition system (coil and points/ignition module) was set for 12~14 volts as at 9 volts you may have no spark, so they set the voltage at 9 volts all the time and use the resistor or a built in voltage regulator in the ignition module to bring the voltage down when the car is running and give it full voltage (9 volts) directly when the car is starting usually thru a bypass wire or switched connector.
the condenser/capacitor is what keeps the points from pitting and burning as fast.
and on some cars they did not use a resistor but a resistor wire

there is alignment mark on crank pully for tdc and a mark on the cam shaft gear on the side closest to the lobes.....align this mark to the egde of the head closest to the the passengers side of the engine and keep the crank pully aligned on the first mark
(Powerstroke57 answer) Umm.... ya that's for the cam.... you have a pump too!!! I'll explain a little better. A 5.2L Isuzu 4HK engine was started in late 2004 to 2007. It was common rail fuel system which did away with the big bulky mechanical injection pump and went to a supply pump, common rail, and electronic injectors. Set the crank dampener to TDC and make sure #1 piston (front one) is on compression stroke. If the valve cover is off you will notice the cam gear has a white or yellow paint mark on one of the teeth of the gear. When your at dtc #1 the tooth will be parallel to the cast iron cyl head (not the aluminum rocker box the bottom one). which is on the right side of engine. Now for the pump. Remove all lines and brackets, etc. When the pump is loose pull pump forward slowly and you will notice a notch cut out of the aluminium housing of the pump and on the gear shaft (which is long about 6 inches) a very faint rectangle mark which should be aligned with the notch cut-out of the pump. You can't see the teeth meshing due to the gears being in back of engine behind the rear cover. So when u install the pump align the marks and slide the pump in slowly. At some point you will feel the gear on the pump start meshing with other gear teeth you can't see. Slide in slowly, and just before you can't see the marks anymore if the cut-out and rectangle marking on pump gear were aligned your good. If they aren't pull back out and turn gear one tooth accordingly and retest until they align at the last visible point. Then slide the pump in the rest of the way and bolt down. Just be thankful its a newer model because the later model (4HEI) are much more difficult to time and many more marks to deal with. Not to mention the pump weights about 50lbs. On the older 4HEI it's set dampener to 13 degrees and align the very faint marking on pump bell (not the thicker marking) to the mark on the rear cover, and you'd be viewing all this threw a small hole with a mirror, and manuvering a very cumbersome pump!! Alot of ways to mess-up, and you don't want timing to be close on these they need to be 100% correct or it will smoke alot, hard start, or not start at all!!! I hope this helps send me message if i can help more.

Where is the flasher unit on a 2001 Isuzu npr?
Well I believe you are asking where is the flasher relay?? NPR's don't have a module like a vehicle control model, that would house and internal relay that would control the blinking of the emergency flashers. In the dash you have your switch to turn on the flashers and the relay is in the relay box in the center of the dash. Can't miss it on the top center of dash their is a cover and with it removed you will find a series of relays. As for the location...... don't know. The ticking you would hear when they are normaly on would be coming from one of the relays in that box.
