Mac or PC really doesn't matter anymore, though there are those on both sides who will swear by both. The top design programs are built for use with both Mac and PC, so in the end, what matters is your personal preference, software technical requirements (RAM, Video RAM, CPU, etc.), and of course, what you can afford.

In general, the best type of notebooks for top design programs are going to be those for gaming or high performance. This is because they are specifically built for high-end multimedia use and presentation, and if you compare the technical requirements for such programs, they line up very well with high performance systems, with a little extra for software updates as time passes.

Bottom line - for top performance, check the system requirements of the media design programs you wish to run, be it for graphics, sound, video, animation, etc., double the RAM and VRAM, and you'll be set with a system that should carry you through at least 3 software updates. Always get a system with 2 internal drives, never just one; a single drive severely limits performance when dealing with design programs (e.g., main drive being used as a scratch disk for large files).

Gamebridge provides reasonable quality for PlayStation 2 however the lack of HD severely impacts PlayStation 3, it does deserve credit for showing no lag time that. The connections are component and s-video. (price with TV tuner $15)

Justin Bieber has a Macbook Pro. They are very expensive ranging from $1,200-$2,500. Depending on the screen and RAM and many other stuff. I really wish I had a Macbook Pro, they are really a GOOD laptop. Apple are the best people. I'd recommend this laptop to you too.

You need to plug an auxiliary cable in to your laptop and get a 3/4" adapter for the cable and plug it into your receiver. At least that's what I need to.

Its basically the same as hooking your desktop up to your monitor, depending if your laptop or the cable uses VGA, DVI, DisplayPort or HDMI. Usually there should be a port on the back or sometimes even on the side of your laptop. Most VGA ports are blue, most DVI ports are white and nearly all DisplayPort and HDMI ports are black.

If the cable that comes from the monitor is DVI (white) and the port on your laptop is VGA (blue) or vice versa, you will have to get a DVI/VGA converter, they run from 5-10 USD. In most cases you should be fine just as long as you have a VGA or DVI port on you laptop.

If you have a DisplayPort or HDMI, all you need is either an HDMI or DisplayPort cable with the same type input in your display. If you don't have DisplayPort, chances are the laptop has an HDMI so you can just use the HDMI connection. Most new displays (TV's and Monitors) have an HDMI, DVI and/or VGA input.

The Apple MacBook will serve you well, and will cost you $999. This is the best graphics laptop you can get for under $1,000. Also no anti-virus or anti-spyware software is required. Everything you need will come pre-installed, short of the graphics program of your choice.
