Lighthouses have always been important for helping ships to navigate away from rocks and reefs that pose dangers to them.

The horizontal part of the crane (the top of the 'T') is assembled on the ground first then jacked up for the first section of the tower to be inserted. The assembly is continually jacked up allowing more and more sections to be slotted in until the required height is reached. Some towerblocks are built in a similar way with the roof first being assembled at ground level then jacked up for floors to be built below. These are known in the UK as "jack blocks" but I'm not sure whether this is an official term or an international one for that matter. Alasdair Bailey

Lighthouses are never specifically mentioned in the Bible (the closest mention being a "light on a hill"). However, a lighthouse shows the way and warns of danger. We as Christians are called on to be a beacon or lighthouse so that others can see the way to eternal life through Jesus Christ.

It was an option, if your car has it, the contorl for the timer is located on the left side of the steering wheel by the interior lights switch. It should be labeled "Twilight Sentinal". Moving this slider either way will make the lights turn off automatically. When the key is taken out they will either turn off quickly or stay on for approx 3mins (according to the owners manuel)

From what I have read: The crane "grows" using a jib, hydraulics, and sections. When the building is completed, the arms are dissassembled on the roof (they may be removed by another crane attached to a truck, or by other equipment on the roof?), and the process is then reversed (each section removed floor by floor by equipment inside the building). The jib is lowered as each section is removed, until there is nothing left, and the jib assembly is removed at ground level. I may need correction on this one though

It's called "Contrast". At night the Electric light is much brighter than the surrounding "Ambient" light so it "appears" to brighten up the corners of a dark room in "Contrast" to the ambient light. But, during the day the "Ambient" light is so much brighter than the Electric light that it does not "appear" to have the same effect. Part of this is due to your eyes. Since your eyes adjust to different levels of light, to help you see better under varying light conditions. In the dark of night your Iris is wide open to allow more light in, thus the Electric light "looks" bright. But, during the day your Iris is closed down to not let so much light in (if it stayed open you would not be able to see well due to so much light getting into your eye that it would "white out" everything) so the Electric light actually "appears" to be dark. A good example of "Contrast" is Sun Spots. Sun Spots "appear" to be "dark spots" on the surface of the sun. In actuallity they are so bright that if you were to look at them without some sort of eye protection (dark glasses) the brightness could blind you. The reason they "appear" dark is that the surrounding areas of the surface of the sun are thousands of degrees hotter than the sun spot areas. TommyTrouble
