If you can feel it and hear it have your tire checked, the tire might have a belt slipping. It could be a bad shock that has caused the tire to "Cup", ( not if you have Air Ride) Hope this helps Darin

broken MAF sensor, easy fix... it's on the intake right after air filter... second option is that the engine gets false air through broken hose...

There is NO "Reservoir" for a AX4N, Automatic Transmission. There is an oil pan and a torque converter which is between the engine and the transmission where it bolts to the engine.

The last model year for the Lincoln LS was ( 2006 )

If you stand in front of the car with the hood up (3.9 V8) you should see two white fluid containers across from each other. the one on the left (passenger) side is for the coolant fan, the right (driver) is power steering.

The Lincoln LS does not have a transmission dipstick.

To check the fluid level you must raise the car on a lift. When the transmission is no hotter than 120 degrees F, remove the smaller bolt on the bottom of the transmission pan. A small amount of fluid may run out.


Then remove the small bolt at the vertical back of the case and add fluid there until it starts to run out the bottom of the case where the other bolt was removed. This is the correct fluid level.

1. Drain the cooling system.

2. Recover the A/C refrigerant.
3. Remove or disconnect the following:

LS headlights are easy to remove. I have had mine off a number of times to dry them with a blow dryer after condensation formed. Remove the radiator shroud (pop-clips) Remove the screws that hold the headlight assembly to the radiator support (two?) Tilt the assembly forward enough to remove the low and high beam bulbs (twist locks) Lift the headlight assembly away from the car

It's probably easier taking the oil filter off then be careful disconnecting the wire plug and either a socket or wrench unscrew the sensor, it's a real pain because very little room to work, good luck.

The fuel pump is located underneath the back seat in a circle cut out un- bolt it and it will lift right out

It is electric, but it is located outside the gas tank. The fuel pump is mounted to the underbody just in front of the left rear wheel, between the frame and the fuel tank itself. The filter points from left to right (inlet on driver's side -- outlet on passenger's side).

The port is on the compressor under the engine on the drivers side.

Because the transmission computer has detected a malfunction and set a code. Have the system checked with a scanner.

Yes you can.

Lack of heated upstream oxygen sensor switch. Sensor indicates lean bank one. The code refers to an O2 sensor that shows a lean condition. The sensor could be defective or you could really have a lean condition. Things like vacuum leaks, low fuel pressure and such will cause that. The MAF sensor could also be dirty and should be cleaned, since it's quick and easy (also cheap!) to do.

My 2000 LS V8 fuel filter is located behind the driver's front inner fender. You must remove the half of the inner fender behind the front tire, be careful with the plastic rivets.

Usually that is caused by one or more compromised ignition coils. Common problem on the LS. Water migrates along wires through to the ignition coils that are just above the spark plugs. Water rusts and thus compromises ignition coils. Oil infiltrates through gasket and soaks coils thus compromising them. Problem is reputed to be occasional, but I have a feeling that this occurs all too often. Many if not ALL LS owners suffer through this.

It should be in the gas tank you will have to lift the car and drop the tank that being the hard part but just so you know the ls never had a 4.6? did have a 3.9 v8 though hope this helps
