According to the 2003 Lincoln LS owners manual :

Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid is used as the power steering

fluid

The engine oil filler cap on a 2000 Lincoln Ls is :

( V6 ) drivers side of engine , near the front of the engine , on the top of the engine cover

( V8 ) drivers side of engine , near the rear of the engine , on an extension tube

there is a tool you can buy to screw the caliper piston back in.

you can't do it the old way with a c-clamp because of the parking brake

i found a wrench for removing the nut on a hand grinder, the one with the two posts on it, works really well for the Lincoln ls. maybe not for all cars

headlamp auto light control sensor maybe on the dash at center of your car

Most likely the problem is a bad clock spring in the steering column. the clock spring makes the electrical connection for those devices and allows connection while the wheel is turning. Some models of Caravan have a recall out for the clock spring. Call your dealer and ask about it. It could be that wires have to be replaced in the steering wheel. Another Answer - My story: I had the same thing happen in my 1998 Gr. Caravan. Initally the horn stopped working, then shortly thereafter the cruise failed. The dealer was no help and they wanted $200 for starters to go into the strreing column to look for broken wires - this was after they charged $90 to tell me the clockspring was fine. Two months later, I found out about the clockspring recall in Consumer Reports - shortly after that the airbag light went on. When I returned to the dealer, they were very happy to repair the problem for free! It was the clockspring after all. The problems have not recurred.

Yes there is a AC clutch fuse located in the engine compartment. It is a 10 amp fuse' check your manual it will tell the location. If that fuse is blown and continues to blow fuses the have the coil in the compressor checked, also the pressure switch.

follow the hose comming out of the top side of the radiator to the engine ; chances are it's there OR go to aoutzone.com and look at there component locator; NAPA may have one as well, failing that call a ford dealer.

Coolant level.

There are many other posts on the topic, you need to check the coolant level and start from there. Chances are you may have a coolant leak. No coolant = no heat.

this year is very unlucky... dealer only can do it... am I guessing you wanted extra set of keys? turning a cut key with chip not belonging to the car in the ignition makes you a tow company customer...

You have to replaced both seat belt tensioners, anytime on most newer car the seat belt tension locks up renders the seat belt useless a safety feature, during front end crash when seat belts are used the tighten up during a crash to keep you from moving forward, after the crash the tensioner are useless and the seat belts have to be replaced.

With car level ,on a lift or on jack stands with transmission in park position and engine runnning, using a 3/16 Allen key or wrench remove the fluid indicator plug. (Note: fluid should be warm 80 deg.F-120deg. F.) If fluid comes out in a thin stream or drip fluid is at the correct level. If no fluid comes out remove the fill plug near the tail shaft housing. Fill with a squirt can or approiate pump with MERCON V automatic transmission fluid XT-5-QM or equivalent meeting Ford specification MERCON V. (ENGINES STILL RUNNING) fIll with fluid until it drips or runs in a light stream. Install Allen screw and tighten to 89 Inch lbs. Install fill plug and tighten to 15 ft. lbs.

1) Gather all key fobs you want to program to your car. (I suggest buying used fobs from a salvage yard. Ford charges around $40-80 for a new one; a scam many people fall for. Most any similar-looking Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda fob will work. Maximum 4 fobs per vehicle.)

2) Get in the car, and insert the key.

3) In 10 seconds or less, rotate the key back and forth from Off to On eight times, leaving the key On the eighth turn. The doors will lock and unlock to signal Programming Mode.

4) Press a button; any button, on the fob. The doors will again lock and unlock to signal that the fob has been programmed successfully. Do this for each fob in 20 seconds or less.

5) Turn the key Off. The doors will again lock and unlock to signal that Programming Mode has been turned off.

Now test each fob to ensure it works. If any fobs do not work, you will have to repeat the process for *all* fobs.

bad battery

Yes it does, but I'm working hard to remove this on my (Canadian edition) car

as new as the car is it would have a belt tensioner pulley...its a pulley with a spring loaded pulley to self tightn the belt...if u take the right size of socket for at the pulley and turn the pulley down...but not by unscewing the bolt at the pulley...by using the bolt as something the to hang on to the pulley so when u turn it the pulley will retract and losen the belt to take off...very easy but takes some muscle....if it doesnt have a belt tensioner pulley it would be the alternater that will have to be moved so the belt losens....if that's the case have when u put the new belt on you have to make sure the belt is tight enogh or to tight....the belt will have play in it but with strong applided movement...also the serpentine belt doesnt have to be timed

I had a 2000 Lincoln LS and the Antifreeze Reservoir had a rash of heat induced cracks on the side facing the Firewall. The antifreeze would ooze and evaporate without leaving a puddle but a whiff of the smell could be noticed on some occasions. My 2005 LS has some of the same cracks but has not started to leak or ooze antifreeze. Also on my 2005 LS there was an upper hose leak but only with 16 psi or more of pressure.

According to the 2002 Lincoln LS Owner Guide

The 6.0 U.S. quarts ( with filter ) mentioned above is for the 3.9 liter V8 engine

The 3.0 liter V6 engine takes ( 6.9 U.S. quarts , with filter )

It is located in three places. First, On the keypad entry code identification card (credit card), found with the owner's manual at the time of sale, which appearantly you do not have. Second, in the memory of the keyless entry module, which the dealer can retrieve for you with a scan tool, and third, on a sticker located on the keyless entry module, the location of the module depends on what year Windstar you have.

There are 3, actually. Brake fluid, power steering fluid, and engine coolant expansion tank.

1. I have a 2002 v6 lincon ls and somehow lost my keys, i boughtt another 2002 ls, buut it is a v8 can i use the key and switch out of the v8 lincon ls in my lincon v6 car:-) if yes please tell me the procceedure ,i am a mechanic just not ramualier with new modle fords. Thanks chuck webb vu

This is for 3.9L V8 Lincoln LS...Not easy job for a beginner, unless you have a lift..still not so easy... Anyways.. its on the passeger side under the engine.. semi hidden.. Tools needed... jack,jackstands, rachet,13mm socket,short and deep,3inch ext and 6inch,10mm 1/4 deep socket,1/4 rachet,8mm 1/4 short socket...i also used a 13mm ratcheting wrench (fits a lil better)..not needed ...ok.. so if doing this job outside your house.. 1.remove negative battery cable,8mm 1/4 socket, with 1/4 rachet..2 loosen lug nuts..3Jack vehicle up, 4.apply Jack stands..5..remove passenger front tire... .6.locate starter and its harness..semi hidden...7. use a 13mm short socket to remove big ground cable at bottem of starter assembly, 8.remove 13mm nut off of the starter solenoid that has the power cable going to it, remove the power wire from it...9. now you have one more small wire going to the middle of the solenoid, remove 10 mm nut with your 10mm socket 1/4 rachet..,followed by the small wire...10.move harness to the side, 11. you will see another nut inside with a wire not attached to the harness, but actually attached to starter..leave that one alone does not need to come off..12. okay, so harness is out of the way, you have two bolts holding it in, one top one on the bottem, undo the top one first, you will need a 13mm, either a deep socket with an 3 in extention.(what i used) or short socket with 6inch ext..13. this bolt is the hardest one to get out since there is no room, break it loose and try un-screwing with hand, the rachet barley fits.. 14. once you get that one out, remove the bottem 13mm bolt at the bottem of starter... then wiggle the starter out.. and its out!!!takes about 1-1.5 hrs.....its a bitch..lol..
