2 9s here, if it is a 2.5 the trans dip stick is located to the right of the air intake hose, between the battery and hose. to check fluid when engine is cold leave engine off and check level. if the engine is warm have it running while you check the level.

it's in the trunk, under the carpeting, near the back in the centre.

the fuel filter is located on top of the gas tank. it is easy to access from inside the trunk of the car. open the trunk pull the trunk mat back away from the top portion and you will see a silver cover/lid . this cover has 3 or 4 screws remove the cover and the fuel filter is underneath.

it supplies power to certain items constantly; even with the ignition switch off. pcm, clock, dome lights, to name a few.

Rocking the steering wheel back and forth a little should free up the key in the ignition, weird quirk that my car had as well.

when kick down the gas pedal to accelerate, the car downshift but then stalls and then engine stays rough until i turn off the engine and restart it then the engine runs normal again till the next kick down.

29s here, the stock radios are held in by four clips on the side of the radio. you will need special ford radio removal tools which are sold at automotive retail stores. the tool should be metal and be shaped like the letter v or u. after you get these tools you will have to remove the slim black panels along the sides of the radio to reveal the slots for the tool. these panel pop right off why you pry at them. you will then insert the tools (2 per side) until the click or catch. with all four handles inserted pull each side of handles away from the radio (toward the door) and then pull outward. hope this helps

Below the right head under the Timing cover should be a plug with two wies going into the actual head. The cam position sensor is part of the distributor on the 2.5L V6.It is located near the timing belt cover on the front bank passengers side on the 2.3L V6

Bank 1 refers to bank of cylinders. You probably got a triple code code that said something along the line of Bank 1 not optimal or something like that. What it means is that your first bank of cylinders running lean. This is usually caused by fuel injectors, or a leaky manifold. Give me your triple code and I will tell you more.

the check engine light comes on when one or more of about (500 to 1000) computer regulated components either begins to fail, is getting abnormal readings for its purpose thus the check engine light comes on to symbolize that their is a problem. you have to find out what type of problem it is by getting an engine diagnostic, in which they hook up a scan tool pull the trouble code/s and then test components related to the set code to see which are malfunctioning. make no mistake this will cost you about $90 unless you know a diagnostic tech. autozones free check engine light package will not tell you whats wrong it will only pull the code as stated in the above sentences, this does you no good as it does not tell you which part requires replacement. and they will guess do to their inexpertise which if you listen will cost you alot more money than just handling it with a diagnostic. Cylinder misfire(s),the spark plug is firing at the wrong time and that will cause the engine to run rough.

The Millenias and their Commonwealth cousins the "Xedos" all suffered a common defect resulting in MOST CEL issues. This engine configuration typically results in the need for replacement of 1 to 2 O2 sensors and / or the DREADED KNOCK Sensor embedded deep in the Manifold assembly. Mine ran 3 years with this CEL on due to the cost of labour one item to replace. The sensor was only 165 bucks while the labour to install was nearly 800.

I will admit once it was replaced I was not only legal again for the Emmissions test, but the thing ran smoother than it ever did ina ll seasons PLUS I got nearly 2 points to my highway Mileage.

Now the codes are confusing on this because two of the O2 sensors share the same circuit and the code wont necessarily identify WHICH o2 is actually bad, that unfortunately is hit or miss. The KNOCK sensor code is separate and distinct however but all will result in a costly set of repairs.

the standard 2.5 motor can use 5w30 during the winter and 5w30 or 10w30 during the summer. however if you have high mileage and have not changed the valve cover gasket and spark plug grommets use thicker oil to keep from fouling the plugs because those gasket wear faster than usual.

The switch in the glove box is to de-activate the power trunk switch located on the drivers side door. When leaving your car with a valet, the secondary key will not open the trunk or glove box. Only the primary key has total access.

It is most likely from mold in and/or under your upholstery.

Yes, I do know that when my water pump was changed that the wheel was removed to gain access. Work space is very tight, my mechanic says its the tightest he has worked on at his garage.
