Why sillicon diode is used in most of application?

silicon is the most commonly used semiconductor. As it is abundant and inexpensive. However, it also has the advantage of a great oxide layer (silicon dioxide) which serves as as dielectric in many applications, and as a result it is relatively easy to make devices out of Si. It's this oxide layer that makes silicon more common than germanium, which does not readily form an oxide layer because Ge has less affinity with oxygen when compared to Si, even though the there are many charge carriers in Ge as compared to Si its the ability to form the oxide layer which makes Si more preferable than Ge

What are the CAD Benefits in Architecture?

== == * Higher production rates with lower work-force * Less likleyhood of human error and the consequences of human unreliability * Greater versitality of manufactured form * Cost savings due to increased manufacturing efficiency (e.g. less material wastage) and increased efficency of storage and assembly * Repeatability of production processes via storage of data. * Superior product. == == * Auto-cad is a lot faster and simpler than using drawing boards, this is because if something is drawn up, and quickly needs changing/altering for the client, it can be done a heck of a lot faster with certain tools on AUTO-CAD. * Auto-Cad creates space around the office, as there will not be half as much paper work. It will all be stored on the computers. * Having Auto-Cad makes it easy to edit, or make templtes of something that is regularly used, which saves time. * Auto-Cad is a lot more accurate than drawing by hand. You will be aware that something is wrong a lot quicker than you would if you were drawing by hand. * The drawings would be alot easier to send to who ever requires them, as they can just be sent through the e-mail, or converted to PDF for those clients/fitters who do not have access to a copy of Auto-Cad.

What is the mechanical advantage of tweezers and why?

The mechanical advantage for tweezers is close to the load (the end where it opens and closes). I am not to sure why but I am pretty sure thats the answer.

What is the term SAE in SAE measurement?

SAE is an acronym for the "Society of Automotive Engineers" and when used in conjunction with tool grade or measurement (not oil), is a standardized unit of non-metric measurement. Simply put, in measurements it means "Non-Metric".

The name "SAE" used to grade motor oil has a totally different meaning, although instituted by the same society.

Why electrodes get red hot during welding?

They shouldn't. When using the correct electrode and amperage they will get hot but not red hot. Uncoated electrodes do get red hot but are not used in most applications. Too much amperage is usually the problem.

Why is a reference temperature necessary when using thermocouples?

"Since the EMF generated by thermocouple circuits is a function of the difference in temperatures between the measuring junction and the reference junction, it is important that the reference junction be maintained at a constant, known temperature. This can be accomplished by (1) a temperature controlled oven, (2) an ice bath, or (3) an electrical means of simulating a known temperature."

How do you you measure tong space of drill pipe if the hard banding is worn include or exlude?

For an accurate measurement of its tong space -Measure from box or pin face end to where the hard band starts. If the pipe is used, the hard band is normally worn smooth, but you can tell where the hard band stops by the color change. It starts right above the bevel on the box or pin and is usually 3" wide.

Will a typical bilge pump put up enough head pressure to pump a vertical distance of 8 ft?

No. You have to check what they call (head) but generally the higher the GPH the higher the head. A 600 GPH will only pump to a 6ft. height so as a rule you should use at least an 900 GPH pump for an 8ft. head. Of course it will not produce 900 gallons per hour at that height, it should do about half or a little less. good luck.

What will happen if water is used instead of petrol in a petrol or 4 stroke engine?

Nothing other than it will not run and you will then have to remove all the water from the fuel system. It will do no real damage as long as you do not let it set this way for a long period of time.
