I would check all of the following in this order starting with the simplest(assuming you have already checked your plugs and plug wires):
1. Power transistor
2. Crank angle sensor(CAS)
3. Coil pack
4. ECU
These are the only sensors in a dsm (assuming this is not an evo)which are related to spark. If any one of these are bad the car will not produce a spark.

if the part is bad for sure i would go to the part store and buy a new one. then look at the wire connector or plug end and look on the engine to find the same thing. if the part may not be bad so try to find a picture of the plug and on some engine the control vavle is on top around the inlet on the oldder models, but with newer engine don't have idle control vavle if you can find a haynes book at the part store it will be a big help now and later on

You need to drop the transfer case, and either remove drive shaft or wedge it to the side (not to far) the 2 bolt on drivers side may be a pain to remove but they will come out. DON'T FORGET before you put it back on, clean the gasket VERY GOOD before you put gasket and oil pan back on. (Always use gasket sealant and let cure for at least 24 hrs before use). you have to have the correct size line wrench to remove the hydraulic lines from the pump, and you have to have a socket set and some other basic tools to remove the back seat to get to the pump.
There is a duct under the hood to get fresh air in the car. They walk in like a tunnel.

The only Anti Theft System on a 2002 Eclipse RS is for the RADIO/CD player. If the sound system is stolen, it has to be reactivated by a dealer (actually, you can do it yourself by reading the owner's manual).
As far as I know, there is NO Anti Theft System for the car itself.

Yes the Code is for the Radio/CD player to work - this happens when the battery is very low on charge or if the battery has been disconnected
First get the Serial Number (found on the actual radio), you'll need to remove the radio in order to find this out.
After getting the serial, then you can get a code to enter (from a dealership, owners manual, or even somewhere on the internet-I went to the dealership, let them remove it if you go there-although its just 2 screws to remove)
When you do get this code HOLD ON TO IT, should this problem ever occur again, it makes no sense to go thru all this again (especially if you pay someone to do it). The Dealerships' charge is less than $50.00 to do everything, where i am.
From jksracing dude u missed the whole killswitch and the ecu they r also anti theft u have a micro chip in ure key and when u insert it in the ignition it sends a signal 2 the ecu turnen it over and the car starts u do that with a key that opens the trunk or doors lets say that has no chip in it the car wont start it will just sit thurr and turn over that's y ure key costs like $100 2 get copyed from the Mitsubishi dealership and yes i no my spelling is very text like i answered this from my iPhone sorry
How to clear 2001 jeep evaporator drain?
My experience is with my 95 Grand Cherokee Limited and it may not apply completely to your 01 but:
Jeep Cherokees are constructed with a unibody as are many cars. This means there isn't a frame underneath the vehicle. Vehicles with frames and most unibody constructed vehicles have a rubber tube that exits the evaporator at a low spot and drains condensate onto the ground. The evaporator pan can get mucky as well as the tube in these vehicles and its a simple matter of finding this tube sticking out underneath and blowing compressed air up it which would be a cheap and quick, although not thorough fix. Jeep engineers, in their infinite wisdom, chose to run the condensate into a unibody rail directly from the condensor box and therefore there is no tube to blow out and no way to clean it other than to dismantle the box. On my 95 we find that the condensor box is half in the engine compartment and half in the passenger compartment very low on the passenger side under the carpet almost. Inside the box is a thin formed styrofoam liner that is supposed to prevent moist air from condensing on the outside of the box in the passenger compartment and making the floor wet. The trouble is that this liner disintegrates after just a few years which adds to the muck that accumulates in the box. You may even see what looks like pieces of styrofoam cup in the dash vents. This is bits of that liner that were blown up into the ductwork of the car. They also can clog the mechanisms that direct the air from the dash to the floor etc. The correct fix involves dismantling the complete dash to extract the box, take it apart and clean the system and replace the liner. I've gotten quotes from reputable repair places ranging from $900.00 to over $1300.00. Most of this is labor. The styrofoam liner costs about $80.00 (for about 10 cents of styrofoam) and barring any other problem should be the only part you'd have to buy.
There are any number of "how to" articles in these forums concerning this as well as several "work arounds" that involve drilling a new hole in the bottom of the box and running an alternate drain. Should you decide to get the drill out and perform surgery be aware that the evaporator coil is very close to the inside of the box and it would be a very expensive mistake to drill a hole in the coil. If you decide to dismantle the dash it might be wise to have a second back up car to drive for a week or so while you puzzle out all the parts that make up the dash. Remember that my experience is with a 95 and not an 01 but I'm willing to bet that the basic design hasn't changed much over the years. Good luck and please post any new information that you may come across as you deal with this issue.

How I was able to do it was first loosen up the tensioner and then lift up the alternator. Its a 1/2" wrench to do this. Then go around the alternator and on top of the other gear and then get the bottom gear on last. sometimes the belt is really hard ot get on so you may have ot muscle it some. Then tighten it all back down.

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!...and its only a $20 fix...i recently found out that my ac compressor for my 01 eclipse was seizing up and the pulley was dragging on the belt and burning the rubber...so i stopped by auto advanced auto parts to find out how much a new compressor was and after everything was said and done it would have been close to $1000...so i figured that i cud just get a smaller belt size to avoid the pulley...so after hours and hours of trail and error, i figured out the pattern and belt size...what u do is stop by advanced auto parts and buy a 40 1/2 inch 6 grooved belt...and before u put the belt on make sure u unbolt and take of the idler pulley itself...then throw the 40 1/2 onto the crankshaft and alternator(cuz the whole purpose of this belt is to use the crakshaft pulley to move the pulley on the alternator moving so u don't drain the battery on the car for electricity)...so then after u put the belt on make sure both lines of the belt are OVER the position where the idler pulley was..hold the belt up and then put the idler pulley back in place...(ur gonna have to put some muscle into that)...so once u put the idler pulley back on making sure that the belt is above it...push up and tighten the tension on the belt...(there will be about a 1 to 1 1/2 inch gap between the the belt touching above the idler pulley which is fine)...so once everything is done the shape of the belt will look like your looking at a dick with a nutscack from a sideview)...so basically ur gonna have the belt on the crankshaft and the alternator with the idler pulley pushing up from underneath the belt...btw there will be a bolt by the alternator that will "be in the way" by literally the thickness of a hair...but its really nothing to worry about....and that's its...jut go to advanced auto parts get a 6 grooved 40 1/2 inch belt.(part# is 5060405)....and its only a 20 minute job

there is no gt turbo. there was only the gs turbo and the gsx which was turboed, the gt didn't come til the 3rd generation eclipse which was in 2000 but 2000+ are all non-turboed.

the radio goes into "off" mode anytime 3 wrong security codes are entered. The dealer has to reset it although I just read a string that said if you leave the door open for an hour with the key in the on position, the radio will reset and you can enter the seciryt code. If you don't have the ode, contact a Mitsubishi dealer
