The selection of an amplifier size is not obvious and most sound engineers will agree that an amplifier with the same output rating as the speaker rating is not a good choice. Here's why:

Speakers can take quite a lot of abuse. They can cope with signals that are distorted as long as they are low levels. They can cope with being over driven as long as the signal is clean. What they really don't like is a distorted signal when it is at full power. Signals that are distorted because the amplifier is clipping the top and bottom of the waveforms are some of the worst distortions that a speaker can suffer. Amplifiers produce exactly this kind of distortion when they are driven beyond their power rating.

If the amplifier output is the same rating as the speaker input rating, this clipping will occur when the amplifier has reached its maximum output which is also the maximum power that the speaker can handle. This delivers the distortion when the speaker is least able to handle it.

If the amplifier is much smaller than the maximum speaker power, the distortion tends not to be damaging even though it sounds unpleasant. If the amplifier can output more power than the speaker is rated to handle, you will start to hear unpleasant sounds from the speaker but normally the speaker sill not be damaged in this situation. In either case, a sensible operator will reduce the drive to the speaker and both amp and speaker are happy again.

Generally a professionally designed sound system will use amplifiers that are substantially larger than the speakers' rating. That allows the speakers to be driven to capacity without a danger of the amplifiers being over driven. A 400W speaker will often be driven by an amplifier with a rating of 600W - 800W.

In addition, most big systems will employ a speaker controller of some sort. These devices monitor signal levels and prevent the amplifier over driving a speaker. Although they provide a good protection system, they need to be set up manually so demand a significant amount of knowledge to be used effectively. In a commercial environment, speakers controllers are often locked away from all tampering fingers to prevent the setting being adjusted.

There is a complex answer to this, so lets put up the basics. First, very low frequency (vlf) radio frequency (rf) energy can "bend" and can travel around the world (literally) as well as penetrate water to some degree. It can be received almost anywhere on the globe. Is that enough range? U.S. Naval submarine communications uses this phenomenon. Electromagnetic radiation (emr) can also travel (propagate) via a "bounce" (can be reflected and/or refracted) off the ionized upper atmosphere (depending on frequency and angle of incidence), and, to a degree, bounce off land and water. It can thereby "bounce" its way around the world. There will be "dead spots" where the signal can't be "seen" by a receiver - unlike a circumnavigating vlf wave. Both those eventualities are power dependent, naturally. The bad news is that if one wants to get a signal from point A to point B, there are variables that will determine what "band" of transmission is best suited to the task.

Most factory radios are not set up to be connected to amps. You can try a few tricks to get you started though... 1.) If you have access to the wiring harness in the back of the radio, look for two RCA jacks (male or female), and an orange or blue wire (remote wire) that wouldn't be connected to anything except the radio. If you do have these, simple extensions can be purchased to run those wires to any aftermarket amplifier. 2.) If the car/truck came with a factory amplifier (you would know if it did), you can simply remove that amplifier and have full access to all wires needed for an aftermarket amplifier. 3.) If you were feeling up to the challenge, you can disassemble your radio and look for a pre-amp. After a few modifications, you can wire the aftermarket amplifier through the original pre-amp. 4.) Last but not least, most aftermarket amplifiers need only a few wires to get started. A power wire (RED - always hot), a remote wire (Most of the time a BLUE wire - only has power when the radio is on <<hook up to a toggle switch in this case>>), and your audio inputs. There are a few amps that do not require RCA inputs and you can simply split off an existing rear spear wire and tie in to the amplifier. well, your lookin at RMS when it comes to speakers and amps, if you bought a 800 watt amp, you would be looking at 400 RMS just as you do with your speakers, i would recommend a 1600 watt amp, just for the fact that you always want a little play room with your amp, this way you wont blow the amp, (amps are more expensive than speakers), and if you decide that you want to get bigger speakers, you will not have to replace the amp. But all in all, i would say anywhere from 1200 to 1600 would do just fine for your sub..-Shocker

Do you mean an iTunes gift card code?

If you do, a gift card code is when you have an itunes account, but its not hooked up to your credit card or debit card (money wont be taken out of it for buying a song)

Therefore, you need to buy an itunes gift card from the store and reedeem it on itunes. (the code is on the back of the gift card)

However much you spent on the gift card, thats how much money goes into your itunes account, so you have to keep buying them if you use all your money

My advice is to go the independent route. Even if your ultimate goal is to get signed to a record label, pursuing independent means can help you get on record labels' radar, or at least make you more appealing as an artist. You'll at least have to write and record a few good songs as a demo if you want to get signed to a record deal. Do open mic shows, enter on & offline singing contests, network on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc. In general, if you grind hard enough, someone will eventually take notice.
