Or would it not work at all. Sory to answer a question with a question Thanks all Pete

Why would the speedometer and odometer for a 1994 Honda accord lx stop working?

The speedometer is a part that commonly fails on the 1994-1997 Accord. Buy a used cluster on eBay for about $80 from a reputable seller, and swap it yourself. The wiring on your car is probably fine, as well as the speed sensor on the transmission.

How do you replace the odometer light on a 1998 Accord?

Looking at the dash board, there are a couple screws on top and a couple clips on bottom. Remove these after lower the steering column tilt and carefully slide dash unit out. remove top three connectors if needed to access the back. I think you will see several bulbs and I think it will be one of the ones toward the center. You may want to pick up a bulb at the dealer first so you know you have the right one. I believe the one you want is a 1.26 watt bulb for the display.

Where is the odometer cable located on the engine of a 1994 Saturn SL2?

I don't believe there is one. I believe its run electronically. The odometer cable does exist, but it is connected to the transmission, not the engine.

92 Saturn SL2 speedometer works but odometer doesn't any ideas?

I have pulled apart Four (4) differect Speedometers in which the odometers did not work. ALL of them had the inside RED gear basically disintegrated. Just remove the odometer 2 screws. Then remove the stepper motor, 2 screws. There you will see it (inside a white gear) disintegrated. I will probably be manufacturing the gear & rebuilding the odometer. Yes you quessed it, making a new gear ! YUK !

How do you fix your odometer and trip odometer which both don't work although your speedometer does work?

This is pretty easy and you can do it yourself.

Step 1: Work light, Torx driver, panel popper, 90 degree pick and ratchet with extension. Gather the tools you'll need for the job.

Step 2: Tilt steering wheel all the way down to give yourself as much room as possible to work.

Step 3: Pull headlight knob all the way out. Rotate until you see a narrow slot along the side.

Step 4: Insert 90 degree pick in slot. Work the pick behind the metal retaining clip inside, gently pulling it up as you simultaneously pull off the headlight knob. (Just pulling the knob off can cause damage to the retaining clip, meaning the knob in future will fall off onto the floor every time you try to use it).

Step 5: Using the T20 Torx driver, remove the top two visible screws from the instrument cluster bezel.

Step 6:Instrument cluster with the bezel removed. Using a flat screwdriver or panel popper, carefully pry up the edges of the bezel until you can work it completely free. Start at the top where the screws were, as this area should be loose enough to insert the panel popper. Take your time! There are five clips holding the bezel in place; so it's important to work all the way around to loosen every clip. You don't want to pull up too soon and cause the bezel to crack.

Step 7: Now you have access to the instrument cluster. Using the 7mm socket, remove the 4 hex screws that are located at each corner.

Step 8: Grab edges of the cluster and pull out slightly. Do not pull all the way out. Rotate the cluster so that the gauges are upright. This will help you maneuver the cluster farther out and give you the easiest access to the connectors at the back.

Step 9: The cluster of wires will lead you to the connectors. There are two electrical connectors at the back, and you'll see lots of wires extending from these connectors to the car. Disconnect them by pushing the tab button on the top of each connector and pulling straight out. (Connectors are different colors and shapes, so you can't put them back in the wrong place).

Step 10: You can now carefully remove the entire cluster from the car. To insert a new cluster, simply follow Steps 4 through 8 in reverse. See the Tips and Warnings sections.

Step 11: Make sure the headlight switch stem is extended when you reattach the bezel. It makes it easier to align the knob over the stem and clip, and click back into place.

Now do you reset a odometer?

If you're asking about the odometer, versus the TRIP odometer, you can't reset it. It's a federal crime to mess with them.

If you've replaced an engine, for example, and want to be able to log how many miles are going on it, the best you can do is to write down the existing milage and count from there. OR, you can set the trip odometer to zero and use it to count new engine miles. This isn't real dependable as it may become reset. Also, I'm not sure how high the trip meter will count.

What does a flashing FUSE by the odometer readout mean on a Dodge Neon?

Is the dome light burnt out? Mine said FUSE a lot until I replaced the dome light and then it stopped.

Check the fuse labeled IOD in the under hood fuse box for being burnt or mis-installed.

What is odometer code ill4 for a subaru outbake mean?

It means that the illumination of your instrument panel is set at a certain level of brightness. If you were to adjust the instrument panel's brightness (using the dial at the left side of the steering wheel), the number would increase or decrease.

For instance, if you turned the brightness up by one increment, it would go from Ill4 to Ill5. If you turned it down, it would go from Ill4 to Ill3.

Where is the odometer cable on the Saturn SC 2?

There is no odometer cable. The odometer is controlled electronically via the vehicle speed sensor reading. The PCM converts this into an electrical signal and sends the signal to a drive motor located right behind your cluster face.
