What events made Britain what it is today?

Britain has been made by a number of remarkable events. The Ice Ages which shaped our island landscape. Invasions by the Danes, and Romans. The Christian missionaries. The Battle of Hastings in 1066 which brought with Norman feudal rule. Magna Carta and Law. The Armada. The Tudors. The English Civil War. Cromell and Parliament. The Act of Union. Coal and the Industrial Revolution. The First World War. The Second World War. North Sea Oil. The EU. If I had to choose one thing that has shaped modern Britain, I'd say King Alfred's decision to unite England and publish the bible in English (Anglo saxon) which paved the way for a strong and united kingdom which would become a major world power in the succeeding centuries and a language which would become the most spoken language in the world. For my money, he's the man who put the Great in Great Britain.

Is capt john smith and john wolf the same person in the story of Pocahontas?

You're probably referring to John Rolfe, who should not be confused with John Smith. Captain John Smith was the colonial governor who was captured. He was released by Powhatan, perhaps after intervention by Powhatan's 12-year-old daughter Pocahontas. John Rolfe is the English gentleman whom Pocahontas later married.

What did Pocahontas do for a living in her tribe?

The story we know is not true. Actually the colonist landed in an area of 14,000 Native Americans and in the worse land in the area. Powhatan pretty much left them alone. I think he figured that they would die from the bad water and disease . He was fairly right. Within 6 months there were only 34 men left alive of the 104 who came. It wasn't until after his death that the brother of Powhatan attacked the colony. The story about Smith is also not true. He did NOT save Jamestown. He was only there a very few months and he lied about his contribution to the settlement in a book he wrote several years later. He also made up the story about Pocahontas and she died young so couldn't refute his story. The man who did save Jamestown was the husband of Pocahontas and gave tobacco seeds to the colony. That was John Rolfe.

What were problems that Pocahontas had?

She had to risk her life in saving John Smith's life and she struggled with disease before she died. Seriously, I am just using my prior knowledge from the past, not the movies or books.

Ever see a Chevy s10 mark 3?

This is not a known vehicle.

Well it's known to me! I'm driving one! It's a light metalic blue 1996 extended cab with a 4.3L V6, automatic transmission, and 3.73 rearend. It's got a high flow exhaust but no headers. The shift point is set at 5500 rpm for 2nd and 3rd gear and I suspect it has a performance chip of some kind and possibly an after market cam, shift kit and converter. It also came with 10" Mark III rims on all four corners. I don't know whether the interior is custom or not, but the paint and ground effect fiberglass definately are. Everything else appears to be stock. Shove it to the floor and it turns posi for about ten foot, breaks loose again when it hits second, and chirps third. I love this truck.

What did the circle of life mean to the Native Americans?

The "Circle of Life" is a complex ideal, and I'm not sure that I will be able to answer this is such a small space, at least fully. So, please bear with my attempt.

The "Circle of Life" is a simple observation of the world around us. One of the first rules of science. Through a Natives eyes he could watch the sun rise and set, the moon go through its phases, people being born, growing old and then dying. He could also watch plants grow from seeds, the fruit harvested, and the plant die. He could also watch the seasons change, from winter through winter and back again. This 'Circle' is taught to us at a very young age, it is an inevitable and unchangeable future we all share. Death then becomes our limit in this world and while it is a goal we avoid as long as possible, we understand that it will mark our end here. Our goals then become to shape our lives around the fact that we do not know when we will meet our end, but when we do our good works must outweigh our misdeeds.

I do not know a better way to explain this, as European cultural models ignore death except under mentioning through veiled religions, and that makes it hard to relate to such things.

Did Pocahontas have a girl named Hannah Untouk?

No. She had a son who was raised in England with Rolf's sister after she died.

Who did Pocahontas save?

The fable states Smith, but the truth is she didn't to this. Smith wrote this in a book after she died so the story comes from him. Historians think that this never happened and Smith lied about his part in Jamestown and how important he was to the colony. He was not liked and the "accident" that sent him back to England was gunpowder sprinkled on him while he slept and set on fire. He had to go home. In the meantime Pocahontas was kidnapped for 4 years, changed her name to Rebecca, became a Christian, married John Rolf. She had a baby boy and died in England. Rolf took the baby to his sister who raised him.

What are some accomplishments of Constantine?

Her mother Helena was a christian, she was very close to her only son Constantine, who had a deep regard and affection for her.

Posible he become a crhistian because of her mother, the most important event that came out of this conversion was the stablishment of freedom of religion in the roman impire.

The Edict of Milan was a letter signed by emperors Constantine and Licinius, that proclaimed religious toleration in the Roman Empire.

"When I, Constantine Augustus, as well as I, Licinius Augustus, fortunately met near Mediolanurn (Milan), and were considering everything that pertained to the public welfare and security, we thought, among other things which we saw would be for the good of many, those regulations pertaining to the reverence of the Divinity ought certainly to be made first, so that we might grant to the Christians and others full authority to observe that religion which each preferred"

This freedom is the base of the western civilization and the constitution of the United States.
