This is what saved my car and my money (that I didn't have!). Here is a write-up on how to do it all yourself. It will bypass the VATS system entirely, you will not hear about it anymore and it will not own your car anymore!

The 1995 Pontiac/Chevrolet 5.7L LT1 is electronically controlled and the 4L60E is also electronically controlled. Both must be present for the drive-train to operate.

If you replace the motor with a standard 5.7L non-electronic, you could put a 700R4 transmission in the car.

Yes it will. The 4L60E is an electronic version of the 700r4. You need to slightly modify it but it will work. My 86 Iroc is rolling a LT1 from a 97 Fbody and a beefed up 700r4

It usually means that you Anti-lock Braking System (ABS used as the acronym) is malfunctioning or something is disfunctional. It is usually the speed or rate your vehicle is going, and nothing is to be alarmed of.

My block interchange says this. 55-57, 58-60, 61-64 (full size) 64-69, 70-79. That doesn't mean it won't fit. You would have to fab some motor mounts but physically it should drop in.

The Optispark is your distributor. It routes the power from the ignition coil to your spark plugs.

It is in the exhaust pipe system. start looking in the exhaust system, starting up by the exhaust manifolds and work your way towards the muffler. There will not be any after the muffler. It is about 3 inches long and screewed into the exhaust pipe with a electric wire on the end of it.

Try the driver side core support on the engine side. That's where my 68 is located. Sorry I couldn't be more specific for your year of 'Bird.

I went from the original quadrajet to a Holly and it solved that problem... Are you sure it is not the carb?

i had the same problem with my car, just purchased used... a friend suggested take the key into the driver side door (make sure the door is closed) and turn to lock then unlock repeat three (3) times this was for a different type of car, so i thought can't hurt to try... it worked for me and allowed me to finally start my car and has worked since i have had to disconnect/reconnect the batter when i was working on the window motor. you will know if it works the windows will sync and can go up/down by the key

It's not the rack that's making the thump as it's on the firewall, either the exhaust is hitting the body or it's possible you have a bad motor mount or tranny mount.
