If the timing marks are dot to dot and you know for a fact that the engine is at Top Dead Center (it's possible to have the timing marks dot to dot but be on the exhaust instead of the compression stroke), and the distributor has not been removed - or if removed, replaced in its original position, the rotor should be pointing where number one spark plug wire plugs in.

Look on the drivers door for that info.

Open the hood, and look behind the headlight assembly. You'll see a plastic knob with wires coming out the center. Push in the lock piece on the side of this knob, turn and pull out the entire assembly. The bulb will pull straight out, and the new one will push straight in.

I would venture to say that it's required as it's a high performance engine.

No…. It is not necessary to replace the fly wheel but, it is recommended that the fly wheel be "turned" to create a new surface for the new clutch pack. (Much in the same way you resurface a disk or drum for new brake pads or shoes.) In the event that you don't have a machine shop in your area, a good emery cloth rubbed in a spiral motion on the fly wheel to knock the "glaze" off should suffice.

First check the transmission linkage and make sure it is actually clicking into gears. If not, it may need to be re-adjusted. Next, your transmission may be in "limp home mode" which is popular with those transmissions. There are 2 speed sensors in your transmission, an input and an output. These tell the transmission what speed the engine is running and tells the transmission when to shift. They run about $17 each. Make sure to pick up a deep dish socket to fit them as well. Other than that, you may have more serious problems and you should take it to a shop. Hope this helps!

Drain the coolant from the radiator. The plug is at the bottom of the radiator. Remove the air intake and mass air flow sensor to get better access to the water pump. Disconnect all the hoses leading to the water pump, you can do this with pliars by crimpint the retaining clips and moving them back. You can then pry off the hoses. disconnect the coolant temp sensor wire from the sensor. bottom left. of the water pump. You need "if I remember right" a 14 mm socket or wrench to remove the water pump bolts. Might need to pry the pump off, it could be stuck, but a little pressure should take it off.

the steering wheel has to be pulled off so you can get to the upper cover on the steering column to take the screws out to get it off and then you can get to the switch.

The only real difference in the body is that the 77 grille had honeycomb inserts and the 78 were diamond shaped. The 78 was available with an 8" Snowflake wheel instead of just the 7". The 78 was also the first year for the WS-6 option. This included quicker steering ratio, stiffer suspension, 8" wheels...etc.

fuse, wiring.... how long do u let it run before turning it off??..I would look to the fan relay next. also the electric fan thermostat if the car has one

On my 1991 Firebird 305 TBI the computer shuts down acceleration after 110 mph. I would assume it is probably the same for a 1994.

You'll have to remove the catalytic converter and Y-pipe and go with straight pipes with individual mufflers. Legally you can't remove the converter unless you're replacing it, which you'll need two if you're planning on true duals (to be legal, that is)

Behind the "map pocket" under the dash on the passanger side. You have to remove the panel in the footwell and the computer is mounted verticaly above it. Remove the screws and disconnect the wiring harness and it will slide down and out. Have fun laying upside down on your back.

The service engine light is on because the computer has "stored a code", that your are supposed to read, using a code reader. Use a code reader and you'll know for certain why the light is on. You can borrow, rent or buy a code scanner from most auto parts retailers. many will even scan the code for you.
