Yeah, the block bolt pattern is the same between 70-75 automatics and manuals. Assuming you have the 400-455 Pontiac series, of course. Just make sure you get the right bellhousing. Change the pilot bearing too.

If you already have the manual trans car, it should be a fairly simple swap. If you are converting to manual trans, you might want to re-think the project. Parts are scarce and expensive and a lot of work.

The LT1 Trans am is rated to have 275whp from the factory.

The air cleaner bases and scoops are NOT all the same on these cars. I know this from personal experience after someone decided to steal mine. The Pontiac is different than the Oldsmobile. But I am not sure about the height of the Chevy. The only Chevy equipped 70-81 T/As were the last couple of years......and those were California cars.

Now here's an option. It works when putting a Holley on one of these and may work if you are trying to get the correct height for the shaker. I used an aftermarket air cleaner base. It takes a little measuring to get the correct height. When you find the one that will work, drop, flat, raised...whatever it is, you can cut the bottom out of the stock base. Leave a little around the edge to weld or pop rivet the aftermarket base to. Cut the aftermarket base and weld/rivet it to the stock air cleaner. Now it all works just as the original did. Good luck with it. It can be done.....it just takes a little thought.

There were 30,690 Firebirds produced in 2002 of that number 14,608, almost half, were Trans AM WS6. Although the total production numbers were low because half were WS6 that makes them the least collectible of the bunch.

Remove the belt from your 2000 Pontiac Trans Am alternator. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the alternator. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new alternator.

You do know the car is supposed to get that hot, until the fan kicks on. If the fan doesn't kick on then your relay or connection/fan is damaged. 220 is stock operating temp. Yes.it's high but that's factory.

Clogged fuel filter is causing too much strain on the pump. replace the filter. (here's the catch - there's 3 fuel filters from the tank down the line to the engine - at least on my 87 anyways.) Hope this helps.

WS6 is an RPO code. It's simply an option that, depending on years, includes better suspension, quicker steering, engine and tranny mods, etc. The WS6 started in 1978.

yes, body parts are completely compatible. many Camaro parts are also equally compatible.

You have a New process 4 speed overdrive manual. They come with a Hurst shifter right from GM. These are getting rare, good transmission and light. Will hold under 350hp nicely. Good luck finding parts or seals. The transmissions were originally a Chrysler transmission adapted to GM. I have one in my 84 with a small block and it works great.
