What was the status of women in early Islam era?
During the period of Prophet Muhammad women's influence and zeal could be found in all corners of life.
Many of them were as active in religion as in politics, as courageous in war as in the peaceful and persuasive propagation of the teaching of Islam. Some of these noble selfless women could be found in the battlefield among the foremost ranks of those taking part in jihad. They were to be found in the political arena, in field of education, in the courts of Islamic jurisprudence, in the interpretation of Shariah, in the trade and commerce, in medicine and nursing.
There was no sphere of life that was not affected by their wonderful intelligence, their kind and gentle character, and there strong nature.
Some of the Sahabiyyat would go out for jihad with Prophet Muhammad and after his time, they would take part in the battles on land and at sea. The Sahabiyyat not only took an active part in the combat but also assisted the wounded and would provide food and water for the thirsty. These great women would stand in the ranks of those taking part in Jihad in Allah's cause.
These courageous women also played a role in Daw'ah by their excellent example. Some of these women would turn their houses into places of prayer.
Many of these women were experts in the fields of Qira'at (the correct way of reading the Qur'an), Shari'ah, Fiqh, study of Hadith and the other significant branches of Islamic studies. Some women memorized the entire Qur'an well. In Islamic jurisprudence or Fiqh 'Aishah's verdicts could fill several volumes. The same could be said of Umm Salamah's recorded verdicts.
These women had much knowledge that benefited the ummah besides the enormous amount of Islamic knowledge. "Asma' bint Yazid bin Sakan was an expert in making speech; Asma' bint 'Umais was famous for her interpretation of dreams. Several women companions were noted for their skill in medicine and surgery.
These women affected all aspects of life during the time of Prophet Muhammad and their great contributions still affect our life today. They were educated in all things and benefited the ummah greatly. All Muslim women should follow the great example of these women and look to them as their role models and examples for life.
What town did Mohammed flee to in 622 CE?
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) left the town of Makkah (or Mecca) in year 622 AD to AlMadinah (or Medina). Both towns are in the current Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) didn't flee from Mecca to Medina. He just followed the command of Allah (or God and same God worshiped by Christians and Jews) to him to leave Makkah (or Mecca) to Al-Madinah (or Medina) to continue the call for Islam religion from there especially that people of Medina invited him and welcomed him there. He was informed by Allah (or God) that the unbelievers of the tribes of Makkah (or Mecca) planned to assassinate him. On the planned night of assassination, he was instructed by God to leave Mecca for Medina.
Illiteracy was normal at that time and place. It was said that there were only sixteen men in the whole of Mecca who knew how to write. This might be an exaggeration; and there were probably many more people who knew how to read but not how to write.
However, poor children like Muhammad were not taught to read. It was completely normal for boys of his social class to be taught practical skills but nothing academic, and it would have been surprising if he had been an exception.
Actually it is thought that Muhammad was not completely illiterate, as there are hadiths that show he could read basic texts. But he was not literate in the sense of being "well-read".

Muhammad ali and the Vietnam war?
Muhammad Ali was the first person to openly speak to the public about his outrage of the war. His protests started in 1966 when he famously stated, "I ain't got no quarrel with the Vietcong. No Vietcong ever called me n_____." He lost everything (his boxing title and boxing competitions in the future!) as he refused the draft which was illegal during the Vietnam War. After him, the public started to speak their outrage to the war after watching Muhammad Ali declare his opinion. However, many of the public's opinion was based nearly entirely on the media. The media was often biased towards the journalist's opinion on the war.
What two groups did Muslims divide into?
Answer 1
1. Ahl-i-Sunnat wal Jama'at
2. Shiya
Shia adherents and sunnies have the same basic belief except a few minor differences. The Shias claim that instead of first three Rightful Caliphs, the fourth Rightful Caliph Hazrat Ali (RAU) should have been chosen the First Caliph. The other differences are the creation of later people. The Sunni and Shia scholars have joined hands and sat together to solve the problems amicably. They have decided to tolerate each other and to avoid highlighting such matters as create hatred and enmity. May Allah Karim bless us with tolerance of all riligions and all humans! A'meen
Answer 2
The basic two groups are Sunni and Shiites Muslims. However, it is to be recognized that the differences between these two groups are minor and side differences. The basic Islam beliefs are the same for Islamic groups or schools as well as they have the same holy book Qur'an, they have the same ritual worships of praying, fasting, pilgrimage (or Hajj), same direction when praying. It is to be emphasized that the persuasion of the west to deepen differences between Islamic different schools and agitate conflicts among them to help in implementing their policies of the creative disturbance will never succeed. The differences among Islamic schools are never the same as the Christian different denominations and sects.

They only differed on some side issues that are not critical.

When was Muhammad visited by Gabriel?
It was in the month of Ramadan when an incident took place, which would change the rest of Muhammad's life and the course of human history. Muhammad was forty years old and until now he had lived a relatively normal life. Until this day, he wasn't well known for anything apart from his honesty and good character. According to tradition, when Muhammad was nearly 40, he had been prone to spending long hours in retirement meditating and speculating over the aspects of creation around him; this meditative temperament was said to have helped to widen the mental gap between him and his compatriots. He would provide himself with simple food and water, and then head directly for the hills and ravines in the neighborhood of Meccah. One of these in particular was his favorite resort - a cave named Hira, in the Mount An-Nur. Only 2 miles from Mecca, it was a small cave 4 yards long and 1.75 yards wide.
"And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned." [Isaiah, 29:12]
One day Muhammad was sitting alone in a cave in mount Hira, on the outskirts of Meccah when suddenly a man in white dress appeared to him. Muhammad himself described: "Then he took me and squeezed me vehemently and then let me go and repeated the order 'Recite.' 'I cannot recite' said I, and once again he squeezed me and let me till I was exhausted. Then he said, 'Recite.' I said, 'I cannot recite.' He squeezed me for a third time and then let me go and said:
"Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth. Createth man from a clot. Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, Who teacheth by the pen, Teacheth man that which he knew not." [Qur'an: 96:1-5]
