Renault Clio

The washer pump is not fused on a clio as i have one and have recently changed it.

HMMM I dont know what the question is but i gather the ABS light is on . one of the common problems with these cars is the hubs which the ABS speed sensors are built into. not knowing all the details i would have to say the wiring or the speed sensors have gone bad which require the hubs to be replaced. check the wiring first. the hubs do have a extended warranty to 60K cause they fail so prematurely Good luck We found out this is a common problem with this car, with ours it was the wheel bearings, hub, rear differential and fluid ($2700). The good thing about it was the mechanic said the motor looked great and should last another hundred thousand miles.

There are two flasher relays on the Volvo 460. One operates the hazard indicators and the seat belt warning light. This one is located in the switch assembly itself. The relay for the indicators is behind the clock on the facia panel (near the hazard light switch). My relay was fixed to the clock wiring with a tie strap. if it isn't it will be there somewhere. It is a small black cube about 1" square. If the car is fitted with a towbar the relay will have two wires coming from it,(brown and blue on my car), these are held in with small spring clips that need to be depressed to disconnect the wires. This relay is difficult to obtain and is used to connect the warning lights from the trailer to the car.They cost about

You need to remove;

Both front Arch liners - 3-5 Grommets not sure exactly how many there are and 2 Torx screws underneath holding them on. (Do this on both sides)

The 2 bolts and 2 clips you see when you open the bonnet (Where the bonnet catch is)

2 bolts underneath holding the under-tray on.

And finally look through the arch gap like where the bumper meets the wing there's 1 bolt on either side undo both of them and your done.

P.S There is nothing else holding it on, may seem like it, just keep wiggling it. this is because the bumper and wing slot together and REMEMBER to put some protection underneath you dont want it smashing off the ground

i changed one by taking out the old mirror and there is a circular disc your replacement mirror should have a fitting that pushes straight on to this but test moving the mirror before you can say job done

Sounds like either a loose or worn belt. Tighten/replace as needed. In another light... I had the same issue with squealing after I started. This continued for a bit after I accelerated and would be quiet eventually, until I stopped again or upon next startup. A dealership service shop and my local mechanic said the same thing. "The problem is the Tensioner (belt is on this and sometimes belt may need replaced also)". The Tensioner itself was inexpensive, but the labor to do the job was more than double, no matter where I received the estimates.

i had this problem on mine.i am not so car literate but bear with me.if you look in the engine there is a small cylinder object with a blue wire coming out of it.disconnrct this wire (it just pulls off) spray connection with wd40 reconnect then squeeze together with pliers.might not work but it did for me!

on the top of the wiper stick there is a push button press this so the menu changes on your dash display to service hold button in for approx 10 secs or it gives you the mileage for next service

Assuming the car is unlocked...

The button is in the middle of the Renault badge on the boot.

This is a big project. The first question should be "Can I get to what I want to fix without removing the entire dash?" There are a few covers which can be removed with little more than a screwdriver to help you get access to what you need. If the answer is no, I would suggest you buy a factory service manual. These can be had on eBay for around $50-75 USD if you shop around. If you are serious about working on this car, a manual is a wise investment, much like having the proper tools. I would avoid a Haynes or chilton manual for anything beyond basic maintenance, I own both of them as well as the factory manual and they pale in comparison to the factory manual.

If you still want to remove the dash, keep careful track of all of the pieces you remove and where they came from, and carefully mark and store the pieces in several pill bottles, an egg carton, parts holder, etc. If you have access to a digital camera, take many picures, and make sure you can see the pictures clearly.

I'm assuming you mean you want to know how to change the water pump? Haynes manuals are the best way to get it right for your specific clio but generally on the newish ones you have to take the timing belt off first (so make sure you set it to TDC before you touch the belt) and then remove the water pump. When putting a new pump (of the same pump) back on Renault suggest that you use some special loctite to secure it but i think any gasket type sealant that is suitable for the water pumps should do it.

at the front of the engine you will see either a black or silver rail with a plastic pipe connected to the left hand side as you look at it just above the alternator but the right side of it could be underneath a ally cover that is held on by 2 10mm bolts depending on the engine

go in your local car shop they have a book that will tell you. you dont have to buy it from them

Unscrew the sump plug.
