Saturn Vue

A service engine light can come on for many reasons. Someone can take the vehicle to the dealership or auto parts store to have them read the code and let them know what the issue is.

I have a 2002 Vue and the bolt pattern is 5x115.

The 2.2L Saturn Vue uses a cartridge filter that installs to the right of the intake manifold underneath a black cap. The cap is removed with a 1-1/4" socket. The oil filter I use is Bosch #3324.

The 3.5L used a Honda drivetrain and I'm not sure what the filter is for that.

Pop the front bezel off with a flat blade screwdriver (just prys right off)

Then use a 7mm socket to remove the 2 bolts on either side of the radio and then it slides right out. Unplug the main harness, antenna, and ground and the radio is completely out.

Only if 5w30 is approved by the manufacturer.

If you are looking for better engine protection and are not worried about the minuscule loss in fuel efficiency use the 30 weight oil. A lot of manufacturers "RECOMMEND" a 0W20 or 5W20 oil... this is really to get the car to maximum fuel efficiency here in America.

Car companies love to claim they have the most fuel efficient vehicles. One way to meet EPA's MPG requirement is to use a lower viscosity oil such as 5W20.

You go to Europe same cars are running a 40W oil, and they are changing it at 10K

The rear hatch stuck on my 2002 Vue and would not open with the remote. I opened it with the key and then sprayed it with WD-40. I haven't had any trouble since.

On the centre of the ceiling (light for rear section)

1. Turn on car 2. Push "clock" button 3. Wait until HR (hour) flashes 4. Look at the "tunes" button at the top right 5. Turn the "tunes" knob (yes, it turns!) left to lower the time or right to raise the time. Repeat for the minutes

the ion vt trans is ran by belts on the inside not gears, Saturn never even sold replacement parts for it so if it goes out u got to buy a new one

4.5 quarts with oil/filter change.

i have done this job and its a pain in the butt big time. first you pull the tire and the get the brakes and caliper and bracket off. then you need to pull the tie rod end with a puller which you can rent from the store and you will need a axle pusher which you need to get a larger one then a normal one. 4 wheel drive because the lug pattern is to big for the small one. then you need to get the lower ball joint nut and pull that off the control arm. now its ready to get the axle to slide out of the wheel bearing. and there are two different ones make sure you get the right one. the axle i had stuck really bad had to use heat and penetrating oil to get that lose then the bearing was seized and had to heat that and keep banging that with a hammer to get it out. i found evpo-rust works really good for rust,takes about 2-4 hours to get stuff lose but its worth it if you dont have to bang your fingers and burn your truck. found it online and autozone is where i got it in maine.

I do not see aftermarket replacement wiper blades nor wiper refills listed in the aftermarket wiper catalogs for the 2008 Saturn Vue. This would possibly indicate that the rear wiper was a proprietary Saturn technology/design and you may have to go to the dealer for the parts and possibly labor. Before doing this (because its usually a little more expensive at the dealer), you may want to visit some internet forums and see if there's other ideas out there. Google "saturn vue forums" then search "rear wiper" once in the forums. I'm sure there's rapport on this topic.

As far as front wiper blades, The 2008 Saturn Vue takes 24" driver side adn 16" passenger side replacement windshield wiper blades and aftermarket wipers are available. Note, when buying wipers be sure to always lookup your vehicle make, model and year in the application guide book at the store, or now-a-days you can Google 'lookup wiper size'.

You want to look this up because correct wiper fit is more than correct length, it's also proper attachment. Not all attachments fit all arms. Using the application guide or looking up wiper size online will avoid headaches of buying the right lengths with the wrong attachments.

drive shaft carrier bearing needs to be replaced

That depends if you have a four or 6 cylinder engine...On a four cylinder they are right on top of the engine...there is a black coil pack on the top that has four 10 mm bolts and 1 plug holding it on. Remove the pack and the plugs are underneath... On a six cylinder they are under the intake It must be removed to replace the plugs

Should be at the driver's side firewall

The 2003 Saturn Vue takes a 24" drivers side, 19" passenger side and a fairly specialized 10" rear wiper that is difficult to find in the stores. See sources and related links below for more information. Since there are currently over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.

Next time you post, please put an engine size, it helps alot. If you have the Honda motor and tranny, which most likely you do with this generation, it is up front towards the driver side, it is probally marked yellow a bit further down. if it is the Honda engine, you check it with the engine off. If you have the standard GM ecotec engine, then 99% sure the transmission has no dipstick, and you have to take another method to check from underneath. So check and see which motor you have and let me know.

If you do not know how to replace it, then you should not try to replace it.

If you want to know WHERE it is, then look near the thermostat housing.
