It's because you probably have dry skin. Once you get out of the shower and your body absorbs all of the moisture, your skin gets dry and your natural movements cause the dry skin to stretch. This is what causes that itchy sensation. A quick remedy to that is investing in a good deep moisturizing lotion. Apply the lotion while your skin is still slightly damp. I highly doubt it. I have had shingles since I was 19 and I'm now 43. They get worse and more painful the older that I get. Very often it's just common jock itch, and can be remedied by using one of many products available over the counter, in a spray, cream, or powder, such as Dessinex, Lotrimin etc. But if you use such products and it doesn't clear up, see a doctor. Don't be shy. Just do it.

If it has been itching for some time, you may have thread worms or pin worms (or some other small parasites). These come out at night for a little fresh air (well, to lay eggs really) and this causes itching. It's easy to catch eggs under your fingernails that end up in your mouth and you infect yourself again. These are not really serious, just annoying. Medication can kill the worms but not the eggs, so you have to repeat the dose a couple of weeks later when the eggs hatch again. All the family have to be treated at the same time.

I also have flea bites, to make them stop itching you can rub the area with water and then apply soap to it. Afterwards remember to wash the whole entire area that you applied soap with. If you don't the skin will dry. Another way is the rub the area with water and rub salt into it. Just rub it around the area or bite. Or you can just get a bowl of water and put a lot of salt in it, mix it around, then dab a cotton ball, paper towel, etc. into it, then rub into bite.
