Then start the motor and SLOWLY tighten them till they quiten down, ONE AT A TIME. STOP TURNING AS SOON AS THEY BECOME QUIET, Once they are all silent, Go over each one, Loosen it till it clicks, and retighten ONLY till it quitens again. How do you torque the camshaft?
If you do not have a manual for this vehicle, DO NOT PROCEDE! You have invaded the heart of the engine, and if you do not have a manual, you run the risk of doing damage to the engine if you put it back together wrong. YOU MUST GET THE CAMSHAFT ALIGNED WITH THE CRANKSHAFT IF THE ENGINE IS TO RUN CORRECTLY! Anytime you are reassembling a large component, with multiple screws or bolts, finger tighten all fastners until all fastners have been run down finger tight. Then, working across the component, tighten one fastner snug, then go to the diagonal fastner, and tighten it snug. FOLLOW TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS! If you are working without a torgue wrench, try to tighten all fastners as uniformly as possible. Torgue specifications are critical on many automotive parts, and it is worth buying or renting a torque wrench to get them right. Work all fastners down in steps, avoid tightening one faster all the way while others are loose or only finger tight. This can cause warpage of parts, and may prevent all fastners from being tightened properly.
How do you change the speed sensor in a 2000 Ford F-150?
There is more than one speed sensor. There is one in the top of the differential housing. If you have a 4R70W transmission, there is a speed sensor in the side of it, and if you have a 4R100 transmission there are two speed sensors in it. If you have 4 wheel ant-lock brakes, there is a speed sensor in each front wheel hub. So there could be as many as 5 speed sensors. Which speed sensor are we replacing?

How do you change a 2005 Toyota Tacoma cabin filter?
I'm not sure where your filter is. But in both my 2003 4runner and 2008 Tundra it's located behind the lower glove box. It's the same procedure on both. Open the box remove the clip/rod on the right side of the box. Squeeze in on the sides of the box to bypass the stop tabs. Remove the glove box. Behind it you will find a long narrow trap door with clips on each end. Release them and pull out the cabin air filter.
That's it. Your may be different. I found instructions in the box with a new cabin filter that I bought at a local auto store. $28.

Why does your 2009 Tacoma have a random rough idle when you come to a stop?
I have exactly the same problem with my 2007 Tacoma, 24K miles. I don't have any other issues and the truck drives fine. My guess is if that we took it to the dealer, 1) they wouldn't be able to reproduce the problem or 2) they will tell us it is normal.
Anyone else have this problem?
I have a 2011 Tacoma 4.0L with 11K miles on it with a similar problem. It idles randomly/rough and is a bit underpowered (especially with a trailer). This is a condition that 'happened' at once at about 8500 miles. The first dealer told me I had water in the gas. The second dealer said the same thing. But, after driving another 2000 miles with the condition, they took a closer look. I would agree, its slight and perhaps a dealer wouldn't notice, but this is my third 4.0L Tacoma so I am very familair with how they should run. I had a 2006 and a 2008 prior to the 2011. I would highly suggest taking it in. My truck is scheduled to be looked at by a Toyota Field Representative in late January 2011. I hope they can fix this soon as I like the truck, but this is certainly not correct. Don't take 'water in the gas' as an answer, but be polite. Feel free to contact me if a dealer wans cross references. I think there are several of these problems out there, but Toyota doesn't know about them as they are slight and dealers are chocking them up to them being slight or user problems as this problem doesn't exibit engine codes. BTW, I did have mine shut down on me twice while on the highway while passing vehicles up a hill at high speed. Dealer can't recreate as it happened out in Wyoming where the speed limit is higher than where my dealer is located. The dealer has opened a Toyota service ticket on my truck. I'd be curious to see if anyone has an answer. They checked the fuel mixture, the spark plugs and the gas tank... no answer yet. I hope the Toyota Field Rep can help.
1995 What does it mean when the brake and battery indicator dash lights come on at the same time?
I have a 1996 and have found the following:
My brake light came on because the emergency brake cable binds and does not go all the way back to it's normal resting position. Upon looking under the truck, the pivot arm assy, (connects the single cable from the front to the two cables that go the rear drum brakes) was getting corroded and binding up. Try making sure the arm is all the way in the relaxed (read not engaging the rear brakes). This takes pressure off the cable and makes the light go out. Also check the spring that is part of the pivot arm as it might be getting weak/worn out.
You may only have a bad battery. My battery light came on when my alternator was about to die. All the lights started doing funny things (flashing and glowing dimly) then the truck finally died. Everything was OK when alternator was replaced.
David
AnswerI had these symptoms two weeks ago and the alternator stopped working two days later.Well guys, I too had that happen several times on my 1982 Toyota Truck. When the alternator's brushes wear out, they will trigger the parking brake and charge lights to come on...same thing if the water pump/alternator belt breaks. Now, if the alternator is delivering some electricity, but not the full 14.8 volts, it may cause the charge light to glow dimly when the engine is running, or it may not. If you have the lights coming on, it would be wise to use a battery charger to charge the battery while it is disconnected for alternator repairs (Take the battery out of the truck before doing this).
