How do you line up the crank and dual cam gear marks for the timing belt on a 1995 Toyota Tercel 15?
First of all, bring your number one piston to top. Number one is the first one from the right (passenger side). There is a mark for this on the front of the belt cover. The timing mark on the crankshaft pulley should be aligned with 0. There will be two horizontal pit marks on one camshaft sprocket and one (a little bigger) on the other camshaft sprocket. These should fit together. Now the timing mark on the face of the timing belt sprocket should be a couple of degrees to the right of straight up. There will be a 5E on the timing belt sprocket. This 5E is what needs to be just to the right of straight up. Tighten everything down and your engine should start.
How do you adjust the idle on a Toyota Tercel?
First, find the throttle body. If you do not know what you are looking for, the throttle body sits near the top of the engine. (On my 1994 model, it looks like a very large gray-metal hotdog bun). If you have trouble locating it, the accelerator pedal's cable attaches to it, as does plastic ducting coming from the engine's air cleaner, and you can easily see the accelerator pedal cable's spring-loaded cable return mechanism moving at the side of the throttle body as the accelerator pedal is pumped. With the motor off, ask someone to pump the accelerator pedal as you watch for movement, or try peeking under the open hood from inside the car as you pump the pedal yourself.
Once you have located the throttle body, view it from the passenger side of the car. Look for the top of the head of a standard, flat-head screw. (On my 1994, it is recessed about a quarter inch into the end of a tubular-shaped piece of metal about the size of my little finger that sits at the top of the throttle body where the air cleaner's ducting attaches.) This screw controls the engine's idle speed.
Use a medium-size flat-head screwdriver to slowly turn this screw. Be sure to make adjustments only when the engine is fully warm, and running. Clockwise rotation should slow the engine's idle speed, counter clockwise rotation should increase it. Although not necessary, using a tachometer will allow you to set a precise speed in revolutions per minute, "rpm". If your vehicle is not equipped with one on the dashboard, handheld tachometers exist, and can be attached to the engine. Tercels with manual transmissions suggest a warm-engine speed at idle of 750 rpm; those with automatic transmissions suggest a warm-engine speed at idle of 800 rpm.
Also, be aware that operating electrical components, such as headlights, brake lights, radio, fan, rear-window heater, and so on, will draw power from the motor, and can cause your engine's idle speed to slow. You may wish to set the idle speed while these devices are all in operation in order to insure an adequate idle speed when you are stopped in traffic, and operating these components. If you live in an area where emissions are checked before vehicle license tabs can be purchased, bring along a screwdriver to the testing station, in case you have set your idle speed in excess of the test's minimum idle-speed limit, generally 1100 rpm, and need to adjust it on the spot.
This applies to 1991-94 Tercel models.

The alternator is where power is drawn from, not the motor itself.
How do you reset airbag light on 1993 Toyota Tercel?
I have been having the same problem with a 1990 Toyota Celica after I needed to fix the horn switch in the steering wheel. The airbag was fine before I removed it, and then afterwards the light stayed on. I found this service bulletin on the subject. It should do the trick. PCEE https://toyota.justanswer.com/uploads/skyvisions/2008-06-14_071044_90_celica2.pdf - 30-JUL 2008 In follow up to the above. I used the procedure outlined in the service bulletin and it wroked great. I inserted the leads into the Tc and Ab ports and then tapped out the sequence on the ground cable on the battery. It cleared the 41 code and now the light is out and the system is reset!!!! PCEE
How do you change dash lights on 1998 Toyota Tercel?
Remove the screw that holds the trim piece in place the pull that out. then you can either remove the whole cluster or leave it in. I would just leave it in. Remove the plastic cover, there should be four clips holding it on. then remove the needles from the gauges make sure to remember where your fuel one is to. then remove the screws that hold the panels on and pull them out, then pull the old bulbs out, you may need to use a pair of needle nose pillars then put the new bulb in and put everything back on but turn your car on before putting the clear plastic back on to make sure your gauges are accurate.

It is in the fuse box near the battery, on the driver's side. You'll have to open the hood. It has a black plastic cover, and is located above the wheelwell. If you clean off the lid of the fuse box, it should have a map (at least it does on mine). There also should be spare fuses inside the lid.
