How do you remove the headlight lens on a 2002 vw beetle?

Removal of Headlight lens requires a special tool to release the snaps located on the inner body rim. The first time I tried it (without the tool) I broke the snaps and had to replace the entire assembly.

Remember the lens assembly has to be waterproof/weather resistant, so any cracks will lead to failure of the headlight element.

My advice (if this is your first change) is to take it to the dealer and hover over the mechanic, asks multiple questions and go find the tool to purchase.

Believe me, it's worth the money and eliminates the aggravation of dealing with an impossible front end design.

Is it expensive to convert an automatic transmission to manual in a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle?

Yes it will cost quite a bit because you have to buy a whole new Tranny, all the associated linkage, also you will need a clutch and new flywheel for the engine, and hopefully the car has a hole already cut in the firewall for the clutch pedal link. If I were you I would expect to pay somewhere from 3,500-5,000 in parts and that don't even count getting it installed.

How do you replace an accelerator cable on a 1967 vw beetle?

Starting at the carb throttle linkage there is a little bolt that holds the cable. Soak it in penetrating oil first and carefully hold it in place with a pair of pliers as you loosen the bolt. Might wind up breaking this setup but don't worry as it is not expensive or hard to replace. Once it is loose go to the inside of the car, behind the throttle pedal you will see the other end of the cable. Pull the cable through. Feed the new cable through the little tube in the floor with a little grease on the cable to keep it freed up. It will come out behind the fan shroud in the engine compartment, use a mirror and a good light to help find it. Feed it through the fan shroud tube and reattach it to the carb throttle linkage. Test to make sure it works free and give full throttle for those drag races I'm sure you get into.
