Pry off the emblem on the back side of the fob with something that can get underneath the metal; like a razor blade. You will have to epoxy it back on when you are done. If you look at the back of the fob again you will notice a seam that runs all the way around the key. It runs across the back underneath the emblem you pryed off around to the front. grab each side in your hand and pull apart. This will separate it into the key portion and the remote portion. you can then pry the remote portion apart with your fingernails to change the batteries. when the glow plug light is flashing during driving it is not the plugs that need replaced it normally means you have a bulb blown most commonly one of your sidelights and once replaced your glow plug light will stop flashing

l have golf mk4 but most cars vw use the same parts.

glow plug or "spring" light on my board started to flash, found on line two reasons ...
Before, check your book but not much over there for that problem so as l said there is two reasons that l know.
1. electric problem with back breaking lights, both bulbs were blown so check the all the bulbs or..

2. break pedal switch has stuck or gone, so found any car parts shop and ask for one.

Very easy to replace, take off the panel above the pedals , there is three screws to undue and simply you have access to break pedal switch. Replace it with new one.

Soon as l have done that glow plug light stopped to flash, there was no further issues.

have someone with you cos in the day light make sure break lights are working properly.
Or simply use the mirror, that's what I've done.

You will find on line many answers and pictures of how to do that but on some there is just too many things to take off, SO IT IS ACTUALLY VERY SIMPLE !!!

the vw bora is a mixture of mark 4 golf and passat combined, it is an amazing car to drive, very comfartable and safe to drive, very very reliable, the bora models come with a range of different engines and trims, the best would probably be the v6 4 motion model, i used to own 1, was one of the best cars iv owned

Mine does the same thing, I have over 150k miles on the factory clutch and its nearing replacement. the shudder is usually caused by a worn flywheel that has warped or has a hotspot on it. Sounds like your close to needing a replacement as well. Just drive normally and don't ride the clutch and you should be able to get some more miles out of it.

Exactly as listed in your owner's manual. If you do not have one, I suggest you get one and not take a chance.
