You can't buy a new one anymore because they were discontinued when the Vanagon (T3) came out. Used ones can be purchased, if you can find someone who will sell you one.

You can but a new one (2012) in England. T2 VW campers are still made new by VW in Brazil. You cannot, however import one into the USA, because they do not meet current USA safety standards.

Pull the unit forward, the stalk will extend. Hold stalk with one hand and pull and rotate the unit clockwise at the same time.

Be gentle - the stalk is not very strong. Note that cleaning fluid will squirt out at pressure - protect your eyes.

Once the unit is removed and the stalk released the stalk will retract - this is OK - let it go. To reinstall just push unit back into place it will engagage the stalk.

The bad news is that these units often gets clogged and the valve inside gets stuck and this is not reliably repairable.

There is no level indicator on the gearbox. The oil is checked by topping it up.

I had the same problem on my '96 lwb t4 caravelle VR6, I found a 10A blown fuse (whilst looking for windscreen wiper fuse which was also blown as I hadn't freed the wipers from the snow/ice on the screen before activating them) and when replaced the problem was cured. I think the reason why this worked, is that particular fuse supplys the mixer valve that adjusts the heater water temperature and when there is no volts the valve only allows cold water to flow to the heater. As I don't have a circuit diagram, fuse box drawing or handbook I can't say if this fuse performs that function or not all I know is that it solved my problem.

High oil pressure is not usually a problem. The relief will open around 100psi on most engines.

The oil drain plug on the sump is to the rear of the sump on the side 17mm spanner or socket required to remove Drain plug

with the ign key in the ign in the off position , press on hold the trip reset button till it goes to zero . Then turn the ign on , then release the trip reset button . The service light should flash . Then press the minute adjuster button and the service light should be reset

Well it all really depends on what car you get or what type of tank you get. for example, in the V8 Supercars that are run in Australia, their petrol tanks are 120 litres. you can get different petrol tanks for different cars, so yeh. If you want to find out how big a petrol tank is in a certain car then you should go onto the car manufactuers website and find out there, ok.

get a pot of plus gas, take out spark plugs pour about 25ml of plus gas down each bore and leave for 24hrs make sure the battery has been fully charged

preferably repalce sparkplugs; or for economy clean and reset gap, then bake in an oven for about an hour at about 140 C this removes any moisture that may be present in the plug.

before replacing the sparkplugs slowly turn the engine over by hand.

check the points are set correctly, if pitted or corroded replace, if your replacing these then also replace the condenser.

Note old petrol will have gone off, and you will need to drain this out and refill the tank with some fresh fuel.you should now be ready to try and start your dub.at this point you may need to place a teaspoon of petrol down the carburettor, and piece of rag to choke the carb while some one else turns it over. It should fire up queit quickly but may need a number of goes before she'll run on her own

Assuming you're refering to a T4 Transporter, the glow plug relay is the bottom right relay beneath in the fuse bok behind the drivers side cubby box thing. it's number 104.

In order to remove the alternator on a 1.6 liter four cylinder you will have to remove the a/c line going into the car located on the passenger side. Then you will have the room to remove the alternator from the car. There are 2 bolts holding the alternator in 1 on top and the other on the bottom. This is a fairly easy job should take about 15 - 25 minutes to complete.
