Where is the paint code located on Volkswagen?
Very often there is a label on the floor of the trunk, underneath the carpet, that gives all of the option codes for the car as well as the interior color code and the paint color code. Some years there was a sticker inside one of the owner's manuals with some of the same information. If you can't find either, you might get more expert advice at tdiclub.com, even if your VW is not a TDI. You can take your chances with vwvortex.com too, but expect the intellectual and emotional age to be about one half of tdiclub's.

What are some different remedies to stop hayfever?
My doctor prescribes antihisthamines (not sure on the spelling). However, I'm not convinced they work. I still suffer from a runny nose, sneezing, and watery, puffed-up eyes. But then maybe my hay fever is just really really bad. Who knows? Anti-histamines can be bought over the counter, ask your pharmacist. If your symptoms are very bad you can use a nasal spray as well. The trick is to start using them BEFORE your symptoms start in March/April or whenever and you need to take them every day during the hay-fever season even if the pollen count forecast is low so you build up the anti-histamine level in your body for when it is high. If you want a natural remedy (and it's worked for many of my friends with bad allergies and hay fever is INTRA. Just go onto www.google.com and type in 'Intra products.' It is excellent for the immune system and you only have to put 3 - 4 drops in juice or even water. Another thing you should drink at least once a day is Pomegranate juice (from the health section of your grocery store) as it's a great antioxidant and also is great for the immune system.

A Volkswagen bus doesn't have a VIN. It has a Chassis Number and an Engine Number.
It's in three places:
1. There is a plate in the bottom of the windshield on the driver's side.
2. There is a data plate somewhere in the car--on a Type 2 VW it's usually on the little wall behind the driver's seat.
3. It will also be stamped into the engine compartment sheet metal. Open the back engine compartment door and it's right there.
The Chassis Number looks like this: 225 1415225
The first digit is the Vehicle Type: 1 is a Bug, 2 is a Bus, 3 is a Type 3 (Notchbacks, Fastbacks and some Karmann Ghias) and 4 is a Type 4 (Squarebacks).
The second digit is the Model. On most Buses shipped to the US, this is going to be a 2, which is a Micro Bus. You might find a 1, which is a Delivery Van--one with no side windows. In Europe where this was a commercial vehicle there are 8 different choices. IIRC there were about 30 variants of the Bus body, including things like ambulances, pickup trucks, fire engines and catering trucks.
The third digit is the model year--if you have a Micro Bus made in the 1974 model year, its first three will be 224.
The rest of the numbers are a one-up serial for that year.
The Engine Number is stamped into the engine case so that you can see it with the engine installed. The reason there's a chassis number in the engine compartment is so the license plate people can check both numbers at the same time.
