What should you do if your overweight?
Boosting your metabolism! Drink 8 or more glasses of water each day to help get rid of water weight ( you will pee a lot at first but once your body get acclimated this will stop happening and your body will stop feeling the need to retain water). *Eat for two week, NO starches, NO sugars, and eat high fiber foods, like nuts, in small but frequent portions (eat a little about every four hours). Drink four cups of green tea every day through out the day. Consume a teaspoon of red chilies some how every day, (add chilies to various dishes). *When you eat a meal let most of it be some kind of dark colorful vegetable and also eat about a hand size proportion of protein with each meal (helps to build muscle which burns more fat). Exercise in 20 to 30 min spurts through out the day, aerobics is key for fat burning. Take a few days aside to lift weights. Exercise right after a meal (your metabolism gets higher right after eating so you end up burning more calories if you--say--take a long walk right after a meal). Taking long walks each day helps trim the waist line. Include good fats, like omega 3s, take a liquid form of B vitamins, take vitamin c through out the day, and take it in liquid form. Take calcium and vitamin D also. Include yoga in your exercise routine (it in creases the quality of your bodies blood flow, and increases the bodies oxygen intake which burns fat more efficiently). Breath deeply through out the day. To really increases weight loss (if you want to do this for a month instead of two weeks) after doing this for a month pig out and eat junk food for one day, still exercise on this day though--The next few day as you eat healthily again you'll notice extra pounds fly off, because the junk food load of that one day "shocks" the system, and kicks the metabolism up a hearty notch for a few days making your efforts on those following day more fruitful. I went from a pant size of 9s to 4s doing this.
How much protein do you need if you weigh 136 lbs and exercise 1 hour daily to lose weight?
Losing weight is not just a matter of eating protein and exercising for an hour daily. Assuming that your goal is to reduce your percentage of body fat, you probably should not be exercising for 1 hour every day.
Try thinking of it this way: two-thirds of your efforts should go into proper nutrition and one-third of your efforts should go into exercise. It is not possible to make specific recommendations for you. You should consult your own physician before making any serious physical changes. It's not clear from your question which sex you are. Instead, here are some general guidelines.
You are correct that protein is important. The rule is to consume 1 gram of protein from natural sources for each pound of body weight. So you should be consuming about 135-140 grams of protein daily. Eat a meal every three or four waking hours, and spread that total protein consumption over those meals.
It is critical to minimize your intake of refined processed carbohydrates. Ideally, you should not eat any (apart from the ocassional treat). Consume a total of not more than 25 grams of carbs daily when trying to lose weight and get all that consumption from (preferably organic) fresh vegetables.
Drink plenty of clean water daily--several quarts. Do not worry about fat consumption. (By selecting natural sources of proteins, you'll be consuming "good" fats naturally.) Do not consume any fruits or fruit juices.
Adjust these recommendations according to your results. For example, when you reach your desired percentage of body fat, you may be able to each 1 or 2 servings of fruit daily.
These are some initial, general nutritional guidelines that will help. Here are some general exercise guidelines that will help:
Do not do mild cardio (such as brisk walking) at all.
Do brief, high intensity cardio two (or three) times weekly. Any standard format of high intensity interval training or Graded Exercise Protocal is fine. The total weekly training time on this should not exceed 30 minutes.
Do a whole-body strength training routine about every 4 days. Focus on the basic, multi-joint exercises, which are squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, dips, and chins. Use perfect exercise technique and train intensely. Each work out should not exceed 40 minutes and you should not do more than 2 each week. (The best book on proper technique is Stuart McRobert's BUILD MUSCLE LOSE FAT LOOK GREAT.) To ensure systemic recovery, wait at least 24 or 48 hours after all DOMS (delayed onset muscular soreness) has disappeared before doing another strength training workout.
Get plenty of sleep.
Drink plenty of clean water--at least 3 quarts daily.
If you follow these guidelines, you'll be spending a lot less time exercising while obtaining much better results. Do serious strength training to build muscle, because muscle is many times more metabolically active than fat. The brief cardio sessions will provide all the fitness exercise you need. The key, though, is proper nutrition. If you teach yourself how to eat properly and naturally, you'll be glad that you did for the rest of your life.

How do you remove an Ivanko Super Gripper coil?
I just bought an Ivanko Super Gripper and it's supposed to be easy to adjust/remove the coils, but I am having a lot of difficulty. One of them is fairly easy to move around but the other one I have to really force to get it to move positions. In addition, I am unable to remove a coil even though it says I'm supposed to be able to with ease. Am I doing something wrong or did I just buy a faulty piece of equipment?
Stimulation of which would cause an increase in heart rate and contraction strength?

You should not try to cut back on your meals, three even small meals a day and a good exercise program. If you start to cut back on you meals then your body will start to retain fat your body could start to think "I don't know when this crazy woman is going to eat again" there it is storing fat on your hips, thighs , tummy and you haven't got any where. the best thing to do is have small portions at each meal, and a good excercise regimen and with excercise it is quality not quantity. stick with what I'm telling you and you'll be able to take of the weight no problem. But just don't go too overboard all women are beautiful no matter what size or shape they are.
What build muscle better and faster Pull ups and push ups vs weight training?
both are good for muscle building.
What effect does moderate exercise have on protein needs?
Very little. It's best to consult with your physician before making any major changes to your diet. A good starting point for protein intake is 1 gram for every 1 pound of lean muscle mass. So, if you weigh 200 lbs. and are carrying 50 pounds of fat, aim for consuming about 150 grams of protein daily. It's best to spread your intake across all your feedings and obtain your protein from natural sources (such as grass-fed beef or wild-caught salmon).

How many calories do you burn from squats?
I have been training heavily for a while, and would think logically that doing sqauts, wide squats and lunges for 15 mins would burn around 100 calories. I am able to do about 45 squats per minute, so that would mean you would have to do around 700 squats in order to burn 100 calories. Hope this helps.
What is the definition of a Lifetime Activity in Physical Education?

Which muscle would be exercised to increase upper body strength?
For the most part its biceps and triceps. but back and shoulder muscles are very important too.
The concept that represents the most encompassing aspect of your life is d.) emotional health.
It does, but the better question would be that is it goodfor building lots of muscle? I wouldn't say so. Of course it has a ridiculously good protein to carbohydrates-, and protein to calories ratio, but that's pretty much the problem. When you are building muscle, you want to hit your calorie goals for the day. Since broccoli has 35 calories per 100 grams, it is a rather poor choice.
But, one thing I would want to mention is that broccoli is a great food for losing weight! It is filling, has the great ratios I talked about before and it has a lot of fiber and healthy antioxidants.
How long does it take to the muscle mass gained when you stop working out?
Do you lose more weight by eating a lot?
Unfortunately, you can get away with "eating a lot" is you're trying to successfully lose weight. This is due to the surplus of energy that is produced when too many Calories are consume by Carbohydrates and fats in particular.
However, there are some very good Diets that actually fill you up when finished eating them. Here's one that my friend used with great success. The one problem is that she was sick of eating doing this Diet! Here's the breakdown of it;
Breakfast: 200mls of 100% orange juice
40 grams of special K
Lunch: 2 Chicken Breasts
2 large handfuls of non-starchy Carbs such as broccoli, mangetout, lettuce, cauliflower
Dinner: Same as lunch but with a glass of milk
Before bed: 2 egg whites
That's it! She was losing 4-5lbs per week consistently on this Diet so it's tried and tested.
