How do employees cope with management bullying in the workplace?

  • Management bullying is not uncommon as one may think and one individual in Management can cause a great turn-over in the company they are working for which is not good PR, but often encouraged by higher ups in the company. It is true that in some companies it is encouraged to use bulling tactics by a Manager because they believe it will extract better work productivity by instilling fear into one or more employees. Often Managers use everything they have including threats to an employee or employees to make themselves look like they are doing a good job in hopes of a raise; bonus or a promotion. There is something the employee or employees can do because bullying in the workplace comes under 'playground bullying.' Keep a log with dates of what bullying tactics your Manager is using on you. Do not confront your Manager! This will only cause further problems and a possibility of the employee being fired. After you have kept a log for three weeks to a month then you can go to this link where they will help you file a complaint:

How being a victim affect you?

It will affect you a lot.It depends on what type of bullying.

Physical:

You can get seriously injured if you don't do what the "bully" says.It can also mean doing something bad to your workplace or friend. This is also when threatening gets involved. For example,if you don't give up your employee of the month they will beat you up or something like that.

Verbal/Teasing:

Verbal and Teasing isn't the worst type of bullying,or at least, not in my opinion. The worst they can do is call you a B**** or say F*** You! But when it gets serious they can drag physical bullying in it.This type of bullying will probably not affect you too much unless they imitate your voice and say bad words and blame you for it.

Cyber:

This is the most mysterious bullying. If you ever get cyber bullied, sometimes police are involved. That only really happens if you don't know who it is. It's a different situation when you do know who's cyber bulling you, because it's easier to know how to solve it.But let's say someone says,"I'm going to beat the S*** out of you if you don't freakin' gimme your place you nerd." something like that will definitely have to get serious.I would have to say this bullying would be the worst bullying of all mostly because it's harder to solve. This would affect you like there's no tomorrow when it's VERY serious.

There are other types of bullying but these are most important to know.

Tip:Always have a friend near. That can help you avoid being bullied or being the victim.

Do bullys care about the person there bullying?

NO. Why would they care about you what so ever if they constantly hurt you???

Ummm. I disagree, some people only bully others because they are jealous of them or they like the person. There are many situations where boys are mean to girls and girls are mean to guys because they like the person. In other situations people are so egocentric they are just plain mean.

Yes and no.

No, a bully tends to pick on somebody weaker because of different problems in there lives. They don't really care if they hurt you because it most likely eases them of some pain, which makes them feel better about themselves.

Yes, they must care because they mess with you everyday or whenever they do. If you can befriend a bully its possibly because they've wanted someone to talk to.

  • There is no such thing as 'small people.' Groups of people every day make a big difference in many things and as an example Erine Brockovich was one of them. If you don't know who she is then look her up and learn from it. One person may not make a big difference, but one person can start a good idea and build on it. Throughout history battles regarding different fronts in society such as corporate bullying; city hall, governemtn, etc., have been won over and over again by numbers of so-called small people.
