Flags

First of all, it's a tradition. I'm not exactly sure when it started but politicians, most recently the presidents have worn the pins to show patriotism and American pride. They probably do it because they want to show love for the United States, or they want to seem more patriotic to gain votes. I mean, I'm not a politician and I almost always wear an American flag pin on my lapel when I wear I suit.

Blue and red were the colours of the town of Paris (the colours were meant to honour the two patrons saints of the town, Saint-Denis and Saint-Martin). The emblem of the town is still blue and red today. White was the colour of the monarchy, especially for the last kings before the revolution. At the beginning of the revolution, the king Louis XVI visited the city hall and in a gesture towards the populace, he took the blue and red cocard and put it on his hat next to the white one. The associated colours were chosen by the revolutionaries to create the French flag, officially adopted in 1974.

if you are refering to the cross the upright and upside down triangles, that is a star of david-the symbol of judism, it most likekly appears in the bible because the israelites were jewish. it symbolizes the good works of man (upright triangle) and the sisns of man (upside down triangle) i am not 100% because i am not jewish, but i think so

Neither a color nor a ring represents a specific continent. There are five rings because there are five continents that send competitors to the Olympics (North and South America are combined as one and Antarctica is left out because no native people live there). The different ring colors (red, green, blue, yellow, black) along with the white background represent the colors appearing on all nations flags.

because, if u look at it this way, imagine Florida is an older sister and the 13 colonies are the little sisters, well Florida hates being copied so thtas why its not a colony :} lol hahahaha

Death and Darkness!! The color BLACK usually implies evil!! It can mean nocturnal-ism - creatures of the night such as WOLVES and VAMPIRES!! BLACK is the base of the GOTH style!!
