It is not illegal in the sense that violations result in penalties of any kind. It is; however, in violation of US "Flag Code" as outline in Federal Code, which states:

"When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately equal size.

International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above that of another nation in time of peace."

What is the Nazi symbol on all the flags and armbands in Germany called?

The Nazi symbol is called a Swastika

In Germany it is called 'Hakenkreuz'

The word "Swastika" is of ancient Aryan (German, Nordic Races) origin. Germans use the word "Hakenkruez" (twisted cross). The swastika is an ancient East Aryan symbol and was to promote good luck. The symbol is still in use today in that culture. There is even some evidence that indigenous peoples of the Americas used it as well. The symbol was en vogue and being used by several European groups in the early 1920's, e.g. Finland (Coca-cola even had a poster that depicted it). The Germans adopted it as the symbol of the Nazi party movement, and forever embodying it as a symbol of truth and White man's salvation.

Why do Scotland have 2 flags?

Every country has a flag; but Scotland has two, the first Scottish Flag is the Saltire (blue and white cross of St Andrew) and the second is the Lion Rampant (the royal flag).

The first and REAL Scottish flag is a silver cross on a blue background, with the cross going from corner to corner, and it is known as the saltire. It is also known as St Andrew's Cross. St Andrew was one of the twelve disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is believed that he too was crucified. The story goes that the Romans were threatened by Andrew, as they said he was spreading wrong ideas among the people, so they decided to crucify him. Andrew apparently did not feel he was good enough for that so asked for a different cross than Jesus. The cross was in the shape of an X which became the shape on the flag.

You may be wondering what the connection is with Scotland and St Andrew? His fame had grown and grown, even after his death. It is believed that Andrew was buried in Patrae in Greece and the story is told that 400 years after his death the Emperor Constantine decided that this little part of Greece was not a suitable place for the 'bones' of such a great saint. So St Andrew's remains were to be taken to the capital Constantinople, the greatest city in the world at that time.

The keeper of St Andrew's remains apparently had a dream and followed the instructions in the dream travelled eventually to Caledonia (or Scotland) where they are said to have buried St Andrew beneath the alter in the newly established church. The simple church building was eventually replaced with an awesome cathedral, the St Rule's Tower which is now beside the ruined cathedral in St Andrews

The second flag the Lion Rampant or the Royal Standard of Scotland (or Coat of Arms). This was and is the flag of the monarch. It is still (technically) an offence for this flag to be flown anywhere, other than by royalty or their representatives. The "Lion" represents strength and nobility and therefore this is seen a suitable symbol for our royalty.

How many times have the amendments been changed?

The way the constitution works, you do not just "change an amendment." You can only repeal or change what an earlier amendment with another amendment. An example of repealing an earlier example is how the 21st Amendment nullifies the 18th Amendment (Prohibition). This is also the case with many amendments that had mentioned slavery and how they were altered through new amendments.

On a side note, if you meant to say "How many times has the Constitution been changed by the Amendments" then your answer is 27. As the purpose of the amendments was to keep the Constitution as a living document and prevent it from becoming outdated and irrelevant in some cases.

What is the official size of linesman flag?

The dimensions of an official soccer linesmen flag are 17" x 13" and the colors are traditionally red and yellow. In theory, the official is suppose to snap the flag up or down to make the call and the noise from that action alerts the field referees. Because soccer games can be quite noisy, linesmen carry noice devices as well as flags. I added a link to an example of an official linesmen flag.

Ships "flagged" in the U.S. must operate under the maritime laws of the U.S. which are much more stringent than the laws of most all other countries. What do scuba diver down flags look like?

There are two types of "Diver Down" flags: the well known US version and an international version.

The US version is a rectangular red flag with a single, wide white stripe running diagonally from the top left corner to bottom right corner.

The international "Diver Down" flag is blue and white. It has a vertical white strip with two blue swallow tails. This flag is International Flag Code A (pronounced phonetically as 'alfa' or 'alpha'.) When flown as part of a message, this flag represents the character "A". When this flag is flown independently, it takes on the meaning of the "Diver Down" flag.

Both flags are intended to send the following message to other vessels: "I have a diver down. Keep well clear at slow speed." Check the links for images and specifications.
