Is character assassination legal?

The Defendant's character in and of itself is not on trial during a criminal proceeding. Whether or not the defendant is kind of a jerk or known for being dishonest is not evidence that he committed the crime at question, and is generally inadmissible.

However, the defendant may open the door for the prosecution to introduce evidence of his bad character. For example, if the defendant is charged with embezzling funds, and the defendant introduces character evidence to show that he is a generally honest person, the prosecution may then rebut that evidence by introducing evidence that the defendant is a liar.

How do I find out if my wife ever cheated on me?

The obvious would be ask her...but of course if you have supspicions that she may have been unfaithful then she wouldn't asnwer that honestly.

Have some time to find out where she is going or who she is hanging out with. I wouldn't condone following her but If your wanting to find out do some digging you should question the people she's around, IE.. co-workers, acquaintances people that are more receptive to telling you the truth...

Can someone confirm if Don Lemon he is married he's wearing a ring now?

He is married now. He was not before. Cause in July 07 he was not wearing a wedding band on his left finger. As of September when he came back from assignments in Las Vegas and elsewhere. I noticed the wedding ring. I wonder who he is married to. Was it even mentioned on air. Very interesting. CNN has the hot anchors.

AnswerI wondered about the same thing. It's pretty obvious his ring-wearing is new. Some say he is gay, so he could have a new commited partner maybe as well.

Not just some....He, himself, recently announced that he IS indeed gay. Since most of the US, unfortunately, does not allow same-gender marriage, I think it's safe to assume he is not married. Because of the ring--which fooled the other responder--we might assume he is in a loving relationship with another man.

What law prohibits an 18-year-old in Nebraska from leaving the state to get married?

It's not a state law it is a federal law. It speaks to the taking of a minor across state lines without permission from the minor's parents, regardless of the reason it is done. It is based upon the same premise as kidnapping laws and pertains to all minors with the exception that it does not address the issue of "against one's will" unless the minor is below the age of 12 or in some instances 16. It's found in various forms in United States Code Title 18, Crimes and Criminal Procedure. Regardless of the circumstances, prosecutors always can find at least one federal and state statute that can be used to charge the adult with a felony, and they like doing it. It's been my experience that judges also enjoy seeing adults who commit criminal offenses such as the one being discussed convicted and always impose maximum sentences. Which, all things considered is as it should be.

What is the average age of women when they get married in Canada?

Later than in the US. I am 25 and most of my friends in the US or either married/ engaged/ or hoping to be soon. While most of my French friends are not really thinking about that quite yet. In discussions I have had, there seems to be a consensus that people marry later in Europe in general. (In part due to the housing market and the fact that many young people live with their parents longer and get more support from their familes through their 20's). I have no stats on this though, just my 2 cents.
