1). Reflection of vertically polarized waves is less efficient, so vertical polarization is less susceptible

2). In order to avoid directional effects due to the radiation pattern of the receiving antenna

(losing the mobile signal when the car turns a corner), the antenna wants to be vertical.

That generally means vertical electrical polarization.

Normal car radio is no different than aftermarket. Determine the output wires on the radio, take them into the amp and the output from the amp back to the wires going to the speakers. Normal car speakers are not going to take the output of the amp if you raise it much.

In the tool kit that's under the lid of the spare tire well, you'll find this weird tool consisting of two U-shaped pieces of steel rod tied together with a chain. The radio has four holes in the face, two on the left side, two on the right.

Stick one steel rod in each pair of holes - the radio will look like it has little handles. Put your thumbs on the inboard sides of these rods and press out - this is to bind up the rods in the holes. Then give the rods a good pull, and the radio will slide right out. This is how we kept our stereos from getting ripped off before they had detachable faceplates...we just took the whole radio out and locked it in the trunk.

Now for the fun part: You probably wanted to get the old radio out so you could put a nicer one in. You will have to find the bent-in tabs on the radio sleeve and bend them out somehow so you can remove the sleeve, because your new radio won't work with the old sleeve.

The fuse box on an Infinity G35 is located under the dash, near the hood release. It contains most of the fuses for the vehicle's electrical system.

The IOD fuse it is located under the hood in the PDC(Power Distribution Center)usually next to the battery.

There are no removal holes - therefore the outer casing of the dash needs to be removed so that you can access the 4 tork screws at the sides of the radio. If yiou feel under the radio the dash is separate from the dash panel below. But I think starting here will lead to a broken dash panel. I think the coin trays above have to come out and underneath them there will be two tork or spax screws to get things started.

If am still searching for a way in - but I do know the dash cover has to come off because the radio is screwed in.

WRONG! There are four removal holes... Two at the Top, Two at the bottom. (Each corner) You have to go to a dealership or local audio store to get the radio removal tool. They are the size of a house key with a 'finger' ring on the end, and a very thin blade that has directional slots to 'unlock it' from the dash piece...' Be very careful when inserting the keys, you can wedge the clips that hold the radio in making it more difficult to remove...

On mine you remove the 4 Allen key bolts then remove the facia. This needs a little prying out at top or side. This should uncover the radio mounting bracket. Remove screws holding radio in and slide out. Disconnect wires by pulling gently whilst depressing little clip at the bottom of the plug.

just pull on the dash facia it is only clips holding that in after that there are 2 screws holding the radio pull that out and disconnect the harness and antenna cable took me 1 1/2 minuites i actually timed it
