There are exactly 100 places for stations on the FM radio dial, and thousands of stations

all over the country that share them. That means that several stations have to use the

same spot on the dial, and there are several different stations in different cities that

transmit at 102.5 .

In order to know which one you want, we have to know what city you're in when you

listen to them.

If you already know the code then you can enter or change it following the instructions in the owner's manaul. If the '97 is like others of the era you can't change it without knowing the current code. Attempting to do so actually burns out a circuit and you have to send it back to the factory to be repaired. By the way, loss of power activates the theft protection, so know the code before you change the battery, for example.

remove 2 screws on the side of the dash, in between the door. remove screws holding the dash underneath the steering wheel. It might be 2 or 3, I can't remember completely. Disconnect the plug for the light dimmer. Pull dash panel out.
