Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany on 30 January 1933 and remained in power until he committed suicide on 30 April 1945.

1933-1945. He was going to be assassinated in 1944.

It was rebuilt with Allied assistance and this did much to alleviate famine. The country was divided, occupied and governed by French, British, Russian and American troops. The US Marshal Plan was the alternative chosen to replace the demands of some, that Germany be reduced to the status of an agrarian society.

Starvation was rife amongst the various "displaced persons," a category that only came into use after the defeat. Slaves and others brought in to aid war production were unable to return to their homelands because the Russians had seized them and closed the borders and besides that, they had no papers to validate their claims of ownership or nationality. The majority of ex-German soldiers were "de-Nazified" and turned loose to swell the ranks of the desperate. That is, except to ones captured by the Russians, the majority of whom, vanished. Russians captured by the Germans were executed when returned to Russia by the Allies.

Hitler attacked Holland (or, The Netherlands) in 1940 for two reasons. First, his vision for Europe included total control of all potential aggressor-nations by Germany. Second, moving into Holland served as a key piece of the deception involved in the German invasion of France. France, he reasoned correctly, would fall more easily if Holland itself were to be attacked, as well.

During World War II, Italy's invasion of Greece was primarily a blatant attempt to expand Italian territory and power at the expense of a supposedly weak neighbor. At the same time, Italy's dictator-leader, Benito Mussolini, sought to gain more prestige for his country in light of the recent successes of Germany.

Hitler changed Germany by controlling it. Hiltler was an idol to Germany and Germany just sat there and respected him. I think that the People of Germany knew that somthing like HItler was coming and ther should have fought back. I know that he about 10 million people, but he couldn't have killed everyone in the world. Sombody should have fought back.

At first, the Americans were a bit nervous about upsetting the Germans, who were still an active trading partner in peacetime. But by the time the film came out in late-1940, nobody was worried about Hitler's feelings any more.

I seriously doubt that Hitler would have travelled to Canada. Before his rise to power, Hitler was either poor, in gaol or rising through the Reichstag's German Parliament so he was too busy to travel. During the war though, Canada was on the side of the Allies because it is a territory of Great Britain so Hitler would never have gone there.

There are several similarities between Hitler and Saddam Hussein. They were both cruel dictators, they were both very controversial, both persecuted minorities, and both dropped out of college.

Art in Nazi Germany was supposed show people of the "aryan" race. It should be realistic according to traditional academic standards. There had to be no distortions or unrealistic colors. Preferably people should shown as heroic and working for the "homeland". Much like Soviet art. Avant-garde art was condemned as "entartet" (degenerate).

They were all great, but terrible men. They killed millions of people, but were brilliant. Adolf Hitler was one of the greatest military minds of all time and an amazingly charismatic speaker. He was able to gain support from millions of people just by taking advantage of the fact that people were desperate. But, he brought the German people out of the great depression much faster than roosevelt could in America because he was smart and used the strengthening of the military to create jobs for people. Stalin, instead used rapid industrializatrion and communism to ensure people had jobs and made his country stronger. Both Mussolini and Hitler felt a need for expansion and their people experienced the loss of personal freedoms. They would make that sure anyone who spoke out against them ended up dead and Hitler even had thousands of books burned because he didnt want his people reading them.

Hitler had 3 brothers, Gustav, Otto and Edmund, and 2 sisters, Paula and Ida, as well as a step-brother, Alois and a step-sister, Angela.

One day before his death, Hitler finally married his longtime girlfriend Eva Braun; she committed suicide with him by swallowing cyanide on 30 April 1945. Hitler apparently swallowed cyanide and then shot himself.

So Hitler apparently never had kids with his wife, they both killed themselves on their 2nd day of marriage.

Correction. He had several kids and then poisoned them as well with their family dog.

The simple rason: He got EVERYTHING he wanted from Sweden! He got his troops movement through the country, no questions asked. And so on. Sweden had alot of 'friendly toughts' about the Nazis during the war. Even as high up as within the royal family, not to mention all the industrialists, who saw Germany as a business partner!

Actually, it was, at one time, forbidden for Swedish newaspapers to publish anything negative about Nazi-Germany!
