Aniseed oil is distilled from Pimpinella anisum and not Illicium verum, which is star anise. Primarily, aniseed oil is used to flavor tobacco products but it is also still used to flavor some food products, as well. Aniseed oil is also a popular home remedy for a variety of conditions--most notably, digestive complaints. Scientifically, aniseed oil has been studied for head lice, fungal infections and type 2 diabetes.

There are two different oils that are the most potent. The first is Ylang Ylang.

You can rub some in a carrier oil on your forehead, neck and pulse points.

Another is a blend by My Butterfly Oils (see the related link below) called Moonlight.

You can use this one as a perfume or to diffuse in the air. It smells wonderful and will help set the mood!

Patchouli oil is also a well known aphrodisiac.

Essential oil: obtained by steam distillation of the fresh, flowering tops of the mint. A few drops of oil added to water and applied will treat skin irritations. May also be diluted with oil for massage. And more . . .

The price of essential oils, even organic essential oils, varies from species to species. Peppermint, for example, will cost only a few U.S. dollars for an ounce while expensive essential oils like rose or jasmine may cost hundreds of dollars per ounce. Like other crops, the price can also vary from growing season to growing season.

Eassential oils are known antiseptic agents plus the soothing effect. It is used extensively as aromatherapy agent in most hotel spa resorts and wellness centers around UK.

To aid a restful peaceful sleep put a few drops of ylang ylang essential oil onto your pillow or iuse it in a oil burner but i dont recommend this method if you suffer with low blood pressure as it reduces blood pressure

In a glass container, 1 oz of freshly harvested lavender flowers can be combined with 1-1/2 pints of olive oil. Mascerate for 3 days, shaking daily. More fresh flowers added . . . And more . . .

Elemi - Elemi \El"e*mi\, n. [Cf. F. ['e]lemi, It. elemi, Sp. elemi; of American or Oriental. origin.] A fragrant gum resin obtained chiefly from tropical trees of the genera Amyris and Canarium. Amyris elemifera yields Mexican elemi; Canarium commune, the Manila elemi. It is used in the manufacture of varnishes, also in ointments and plasters. [1913 Webster]

Lavandin, is a hybrid plant relatively new in use. It comes from crossing true lavender with spike lavender. Its uses in aromatherapy are similar to those of true lavender.

Lavender, is an anciently know and used plant, one of the best general all around essential oils and one of the few that can be used "neat".

Spike Lavender, is another essential oil with similar properties as true lavender.

As Lavender essential oil is so multipurpose, easy to use, with few contraindications, it is in high demand. On occasion it becomes short in supply and the prices of good essential lavender oils can become very high. Spike Lavender and now Lavandin are less expensive and yet have very similar uses to true lavender.

I have had direct experience using this for client care and hearing uniformly positive feedback. One DOES NOT , however, apply pure peppermint oil- far too harsh. Making a strong peppermint tea (say 4 bags to a pint) and apply compresses and as a wash to the affected area as needed. One could add a very well mixed DROP of therapeutic grade peppermint essential oil, which is widely available. This is a situation where "more is not better".

Other oils may be caustic, and essential oils use necessitates at least SOME education and awareness, so I would caution not to experiment. A drop of lavender essential oil could be helpful, added to a water infusion, but peppermint seems to win all around for most .

By definition essential oils are the aromatic part of the plant. So it would be impossible to get an unscented essential oil. Now fixed oils which are carriers or extenders to essentials, have little to no scent. Also macerations do not have a strong scent.

It's not the candle, but a good wick in the candle. Stay with the soft smells (which you can obviously smell.) Vanilla can be a sickening smell while peony or other softer scents and lime/lemon can have a refreshing smell. Scented candles should never be used around food or while eating at a dining room table. I have found that so many of my friends have allergies I get the non scented candles instead. I simply open my doors to let in some fresh air. Earlier on before guests come you can Fabreeze your couches, rugs, etc. (with a door open) to freshen things up.

It is generally not recommended that you put essential oils directly into any household appliance. Even properly diluted, some essential oils--lavender and eucalyptus, for example--have solvent properties and will damage plastic and other surfaces.

If you want to make incense first you have to determine the type of incense you'll make. Establish how you will heat your incense. You have to gather tools and ingredients. Next, pulverize all the ingredients (or use powders). Then, mix all the ingredients, perhaps drying or curing is also good. Lastly, put it into the heat and enjoy.

Tea Tree essential oil would not be my first choice for treating arthritis. Lavender, Rosemary, Chamomile, and Marjoram essential oils are helpful in relieving arthritic pain. Use them in massage oils, baths, and compresses on the painful joints. Rosemary essential oil should not be used if you are epileptic or for an extend period of time.

Another essential oil that would help is Peppermint. Some people can have an irritated skin reaction to it though so do a patch test first. Combine it with Lavender in a massage oil.

As the name suggests, the essential oil manufacturers derive this oil from dark purple, dried juniper berries. Juniper berry essential oil is a thin clear oil with a crisp, earthy, sweet, and woody aroma with fruity undertones. It contains pinene, sabinene, limonene, and myrcene compounds. The users add it to alcoholic beverages (like gin) to enhance the flavor.

Juniper leaf essential oil is a colorless mobile liquid that smells fresh, balsamic and woody. People have used this oil as an antiseptic and diuretic for centuries. The oil contains a-terpinene, bornyl acetate, camphene, cineole, and myrcene compounds and works as an astringent and toner for skin. Juniper leaf oil has a medicinal green aroma compared to juniper berry essential oil. The users add it to dermal ointments and cosmetic formulations.

You can purchase Frankincense essential oil from any online essential oil company like Young Living or doTERRA. You can also purchase essential oils from amazon or ebay, but you won't always get the best quality oils that are 100% pure.

Coconut oil is not an essential oil. In some recipes coconut oil is used to thicken lotions and creams. There are even soaps that are made with coconut oil. However, low grade coconut oil can go rancid fairly easily, so it is not your best bet for this use.
