Usually it is fine to rip music off of a CD, unless there are any copyright issues with the CD. If there isn't any copyright issues with the CD, then it is fine as long as you don't then share the music illegally on the internet.

Laptops are not strongly advised to record music with due to them previously not being able to compare with the power of desktops and hardware audio workstations. You would need one with generally good memory (RAM - 2gb minimum) and speed (the processor - around dual 3.2 ghz minimum.) Take the Hard Drive space into consideration as audio files can be quite big. Also, be aware of the sound card, some laptops may not support the software you use, however this is probably unlikely.

That depends entirely on the project; they do not have hourly studio rates.

The diaphragm

There are several, but I would choose degradation of copies as the most obvious.

If you have ever made a photocopy of a photocopy, you will see the evidence of analog degradation - more spots or "noise" on the later copy. The same thing happens with analog recordings - as you make a copy, the "noise" (unwanted parts like hiss, clicks, fuzziness of images, etc.) increases. By the time you have made a copy of a copy of a copy, there will be a noticeable difference in quality from the original version.

Mario Paint Composer is a music-making program. At the top, you see many icons from (and some not) the Mario games. Click an icon to hear what it sounds like. (ex. the game console makes a beep sound, the car makes a honk (like a car honking) sound) After you choose the one that you like, left click on a section of the staff to put it in place. When you are done with your masterpiece, you can click the "rewind" button found at the bottom right corner of your Mario Paint Composer window. Then you can press the "play" button in the bottom right corner of the window, next to the "stop" button. You can erase by right clicking, or taking the Erase Tool, next to the loop button, next to the play button. You can make sharps and flats, too. For sharps you hold the shift key while placing the note. For flats you hold the Ctrl or Alt key while placing the note. At the top right corner, you can switch from making a song, to combining together songs you made to make with the arranger mode! (like, if you want to repeat a song over and over... that's what you use.) To make it faster or slower, you use the slider at the bottom. And next to the temp changer, you can change it to three-fourths time or four-fourths time. Hope this helped!

Transfers musical parts from a score onto individual parts

A .midi file is a really small sound file. You can easily find these by going to your preferred search engine and searching for ".midi songs".

In order to make any type of specific music you have to use the correct samples. Dubturbo 2.0 comes with several thousand samples, meaning that you can make most any type of music you want with just those samples. However, if you want to make dubstep beats then you need to use dubstep sounding samples.

For instance, I did a quick search on Google for "wobble bass samples" and found some affordable sample kits. Just make sure to buy the .WAV file format and then you can easily import those samples into DUBturbo (the Windows version only).

You can of course adjust the BPM to a much higher rate for the dubstep type beats and add drops into your songs too. I would recommend watching some of the free tutorial videos within the members' area.

Yes. Dragon Naturally Speaking dictation software is supposed to be able to get text from a recording, though in my opinion, it make far too many mistakes. If it is a matter of dictation recordings, it may be worth it to higher someone that is learning to be a court reporter to transfer the recordings to text.

Mixing is a part of audio engineering. Mixing occurs after the recording process and before the mastering process. Recording, mixing, and mastering engineers are all audio engineers because they all deal with audio.

Yes, the base of the Snowball is a standard 5/8" thread and will fit on to a standard North American microphone stand. Note that the pivot of the base of the Snowball is limited, so it really only works with vertical microphone stand shafts, not horizontal booms.

A combination of how instruments are recorded with microphones and any treatment or effects help isolate instruments in a mix.

If you have two instruments in the same bass range - such as a kick drum and bass guitar - EQ or equalization can help separate the instruments. You can dial down or bring up frequencies that conflict.

You can also pan instruments left or right to various degrees.

There are other detailed ways to get more clarity out of instruments in a mix, but those two are the basic, most obvious things to try.
