Steel wool may scratch the chrome. Try using some tin-foil (aluminium foil) crumpled up and rub it in by hand. This will get rid of the surface rust. If the chrome is pitted then you are in trouble. I have lots of chrome on my bike - and rust mainly around the weld areas, and am planning, after cleaning, to coat the areas with 2k (2-pack) auto clear-coat which hardens quite well.

You can also get polishing discs made from cotton which you can attach to a high speed drill and use some chrome polish to get pitted areas up to a gloss finish. Keep these away from plastics as the heat of friction will melt the plastic.

Try using dry (no soap, water) Steelo, a product made from FINE steel wool.

wd-40 also works quite well, no scratches...or also toothpaste and toothbrush, rince with water.

You can also try a product called "Folex". I bought it at Lowe's for only $5.00 for 32 ounces. You spray it on, let it sit for 2 or 3 minutes and wipe with a paper towel. It's amazing. The stains almost disappear before your eyes.

If it is blood, you can also try hydrogen peroxide.

When I worked at the local GM we had a year old Envoy that a man had died inside (suicide) and rotted for about a week. This spilled about as many bodily fluids as you can imagine. The cure? The entire interior of the vehicle was discarded (including the dash and whatnot) and the cabin fumigated, then repainted. After installation, a new interior was installed. Cigarettes actually burn the headliner. The texture of the liner is burned and melted and cannot be patched. The spot can be cleaned with headliner and the color touched up with dye, but the physical spot will remain.

Besides sanding, grinding and scraping, you can remove Bondo from your clothes and other porous items with fingernail polish remover (acetone). Test the cloth in an inconspicuous spot before you try this because it will also dissolve some fabrics. You may need to let it soak for a while to soften it enough. Acetone evaporates very easily and is flammable so it would be best to do this outdoors. ZipStrip will also remove bondo but it is even more likely than acetone to destroy fabric...Test FIRST!

If it's a part that flexes and moves, nothing will repair it. Most polyurethane parts for cars are injection pressure moulded and contain about 5 % mould release agent. This is purposely done so you cannot stick anything to them.

I pulled my hair out on this when it happened to me, I replaced the gasket, poured draino in the gutter and finally wound up taking it to the shop where they used an air gun to blow out the gutter drains. Look at the bottom of your car about 2 inches in from the door you will see what is called the pinch weld for the uni-body. This pinch weld is where the sunroof gutters drain to, 4 total, one on each corner of the sunroof. If one of these is damaged you will have to straighten it out as best you can to allow the water to drain properly. Good luck

I think that you may have an oil leak,which is getting on to the front section of the exhaust and whilst travelling along the fumes are being blown away, unlike standing at trafic lights, they are rising up under the bonnet and drifting through the heater/air vents, especially after along motorway run ,I have also had this happen to me!!

Depends on the car, on some cars you can buy a hard top, but i think you can always custom make one, which will come with a scary price.

In order to remove the scratches and Haze on the plastic you must first wet sand using 1500 grit, then 2000 grit and lastly 2500 grit. Also use a soft block so the sanding is even.

The wet sanding will remove all of the heavy scratches and the haziness. Each step of wet sanding will result in a smoother surface which will be easier to buff up.

Once sanded the headlight plastic should be smooth and scuffed. You will then have to use a buffing wheel with a medium grit compound. This will bring the shine back to the plastic by removing the micro scratches created by the wet sanding.

Once you have a nice shine you can throw a coat of wax on them and wipe them down with a micro fiber towel.

I recommend calling a local car detailer or auto body shop. The usually charge around $125. Another option is buying new headlights.

I think you've just about had your money's worth out of that little feller. Replace all that floor pan and you're going to find the crossmembers are rotted, so it will fail inspection anyway. And just how many miles do you expect to squeeze out of that little 3 cylinder engine after you've done it all?

Well,it's a FOUR cylinder,and thefloor can be replaced,i replaced mine from yhe firewall to the back door,and the rockerpanels,don't give up.Of course I did all the work myself,if I had to pay someone I would have got another one and kept T2 for parts.
