The removal of the IUD was successful but I still ran into complications after 7 weeks the doctor could not detect a heartbeat. Last week because the sack would not pass naturally, I had to have a D and C to remove the sack. Though this may be a horror story for me, I have read about successful pregnancies while getting pregnant with a IUD. I am now faced with what form of birth control to take when I return to my follow up appointment, but I will say I am actually considering another IUD.
