I have a 1995 Skylark and you should expect anywhere from 17-25 mpg depending on your driving. If you're in the city a lot, expect around 17 but expect mileage in the low-to-mid 20's if you use the freeway more often.

The first thing to check is the door seals if the car is not equipped with a sun roof. The next thing would be the seals at the windows, top bottom and sides. Is the door filling up with water? There should be a drain hole in the bottom of the doors. I think. Also, outside the car at the base of the windshield there should be a grill. Sometimes debris will clog the drain for it. Sometimes you can get in the car and have someone squirt a water hose at the car and you ean inspect for water entering the car. I had the same problem with mine...It was under the windsheild, remove the grill and seal around the wiper arms and look for anything else that might need sealing since you're there. Check your fender wells for rust through. That was what I found on my 1994 LeSabre.

Your car uses 134 refrigerant. But a kit at most auto stores, etc. The kits have easy instructions to follow better than can be explained here.

If you have a 3.1 it is on top of the engine but if you have a 3.4 you have to take the right side tire off then remove the transaxle then it will come out through the hole where the transaxle was 3hrs repair time. I have one of these.

If it does, let me know. I have a 1995 Skylark GS, and sometimes it will have it's engine speed fluctuate, usually after it's warmed-up. It could be a cracked PCV pipe, the EGR valve or the MAP sensor. I replaced all of these and even put in a new battery and a new alternator (from Bosch - works great), and I haven't had the car conk-out again. Only that bit about the engine speed fluctuating. Also, check for a water leak that gets through the firewall and onto the passenger-side carpet. I tried everything I could to fix this but I just stuff a towel under there at the firewall and change it after washing the car.

the only button I know by the shifter is the for economy setting and power setting..from what I understand it changes the parameters in the computer control module to give the car more power and pep on the power setting or on economy setting it changes them to where the engine runs more efficiently. there is also a button that is usually on the dash near the shifter that controls the traction control if your car is equiped with that option, but that is usually on the dash,but I have seen them next to the shifter...if it is that button when you engage it you will get a light on the instrament panel showing traction control engaged. There should be a housing that a radiator hose is hooked to. The housing bolts up to the engine block just under the throttle body(the thing the air intake hose hooks up to). The thermostat is behind the housing. This is true for a 3100 buick engine. But in all cases that I know of it will be close to the end of a radiator hose. Hope this helps.

It is underneath the car. Right by where the oil filter is there is a little cap, and that is it.

I know you'll need a special tool so you can loosen the pulley with it. Double-check with a big auto store or GM service center to make sure you get the right one.

It means there is a problem with the charging system. Alternator is the likely culprit.

You need to be more specific about your problem. If it fails to crank, it could be it is not installed properly. Shims may be needed to make sure it engages the fly wheel gears properly.
If it cranks, but does not start, then there are many electrical problems that could cause this. This begs the question, did it run OK before replacing the starter?
