How do you replace the fuel filter located on a 1994 Cadillac DeVille?
The fuel filter is located on the driver side underside. It easier to use needle nose pliers. Press the clips together and pull the fuel line off. You have to take off the bracket holding the fuel filter and then push out the old one. Replace the clip and re-install. I just replaced one on 8/5/06
How do you fix 1991 Cadillac Deville transmission leak?
If it's leaking from the pan gasket, just replace the pan gasket. If it's leaking between the engine and transmission, you have probably developed a leaking front seal. There isn't really much you can do for that except to replace the seal. Drop the trans, slide the torque converter out, replace the seal and put the trans back. Many transmission shops will tell you that once you have a front seal go it won't be long before the transmission fails. It's all a crap-shoot, so take your chances. If the leak isn't too bad you can try some Trans-X transmission leak stopper. It might give you a few more months service out of the transmission, but you'll probably need some major work soon.

I'm in the process of changing the stereo in my Kia, and pulled the fuse for the 'dinger' when the door is open (all I remember is it is the second one in from the left on the bottom) - I forgot to put it back in, and the car would not shift out of drive. Once the good fuse was back in - shifted normally. Could control the neutral safety switch too - which is a security factor :) Although now I have my own problem of no clock - and not sure where to find that fuse!?

Unless you have the other part that plugs into your garage for this, you will want to replace it with a newer unit. This can carefully be released from its holder and the more modern 3 button type can go in its place with no modifications to the car. All Cadillacs from 1980 and up should be pre-wired for it. I usually slide a butter knife between the bottom of the opener and the plastic housing to release the lock tab. If your not sure on your first time, you can also simply lower your map light housing by removing the one Phillips screw in the center near the windshield. You can then look inside it and see the lock tab that holds the opener inside the map light housing. The newer openers are still pricey at the dealer, but can be found on places like eBay for 30-50 dollars.
Check all the fuses and relays associated with the system. Also, is it freeze 12? If it is, you wont be able to refill it yourself. Only a professional can buy freeze 12.
