How do you hook up four twelve inch subs?
That depends on a great many things;
- are the speakers 8, 4 or 2 ohm
- are they single or dual voice coil
- what is their RMS power handling
- How big an amp(RMS), or how many amps are going to be used
- what load are those amps stable at - can they be driven down to a half or a quarter ohm
- etc, etc.
I have put this question on my watchlist, so feel free to add more info so I can give you more/better help.
Is higher or lower ohms better for a speaker?
That's tricky given that a speaker with better sensitivity will be louder than a less sensitive one for the same power. An 8 ohms speaker with a sensitivity of 93db/W/m will be twice as loud as a 4 ohms speaker rated at 90db/w/m (both fed 1W of power, that's 2.83V for 8 ohms and 1.415V for 4 ohms). The net result is that for the same loudness the 8 ohms speaker will put less load on the stereo or amp.
So for 93db/W/m, the 8 ohms speaker requires 2.83V, so draws 0.35A. The 4 ohms speaker will need 2.83V instead of 1.415V for the same loudness (it is 3dB less efficient). So it draws 0.7A at 2.83V. Thus the amp runs hotter.
In summary car systems are designed for 4 ohms and speakers are quoted for loudness at 2.83V - that makes them appear louder than 8 ohms speakers. This is wrong since loudness is not measured with voltage but with watts. So whenever you see a 4 ohms driver quoted for 2.83V simply reduce 3dB from the loudness (SPL) value advertised to find its actual rating and then get the speaker that has the highest SPL rating that you can afford. That way you will get more loudness without having to turn up the volume knob all the way to max.
How can you hook up an amp and a sub to a JVC stereo with no rca jacks on it?
Most amplifiers have "hi level" inputs.(sometimes called "speaker level" inputs) Run the existing speaker wires into those and you should be good. I should mention that this is by no means the best way to get good sound, since you will be amplifying an already amplified signal. I would also recommend that you be very careful with the gain setting on the amp - keep it low. The last thing you want to do is feed your speakers a bunch of distortion and end up cooking the voice coils. It should suffice until you can replace the deck with one that has RCA outs though.
How do you remove the stereo on a 2001 Dodge Durango?
it's actually fairly easy. there are screws where the speedometer is and under the dash. remove them and the front part of the dash just drops. now the kit for aftermarket installations is hard to find for a 2001. the kit i used was for a 2000 intrepid. fits perfectly.
Can a 350 watt amp power 2 10inch subs 250 watts rms each?
depending on your amps rms, i wouldnt suggest it.
Put foil inside your box..take out all of your air leaks..put a pillow inside the box..get thicker wires..
How do you get a stock stereo out of a Nissan Altima 1999?
First you have to pop off the trim piece around the base of the gear shifter.
Second, you unscrew the 2 screws at the base of the trim piece around the stereo, the 2 screws near the top of the trim piece and the screw behind the ash tray.
Third, pop off the trim piece by prying it was from the dash board.
Fourth, disconnect the lighter/12v power source
Fifth, unscrew the mounting brackets
Sixth, unplug the wiring harness and antenna.

Fault in the wiring, loose harness pins, or bad head unit is what I'd be looking for.

What is the wiring diagram going into the dash cluster on a 1970 Camaro Z28 with tach and gauges?
It is just a thin 'sheet' that fits on the back of the cluster & has a plug-in attachment. I have a 70 RS/SS, rebuilt from ground - up. I never liked all the gauges all over the place so I wanted all the gauges in the dash - got mine at a local junkyard :)

How do you wire amp to 1 ohm load?
need more info but I'll give it a shot and hope i answer your question.
You will need one of the following to get your desired ohm load:
1- single voice coil at 1 ohms
2 - single voice coil at 2 ohms wired + to +, - to -
2 - dual voice coil at 4 ohm all wired + to +, - to - so that you only have 2
wires conected to the amp.
hope this helps.
Can you hook two amps together and get one combined power?
If you mean in series (the output of amplifier a plugs into the input of amplifier b), probably not. Unless amp b can handle the input power delivered by amp a, and then linearly amplify that signal up to its own level, you will get massive distortion. If you've ever heard an electric guitar in maximum overdrive mode, you have a sense of what will happen.
The way to do this is give each amp 1 speaker and y-cord the INPUT of each amp.
Can you hook a car amplifier to a home stereo?
