It could be a lot of different things, First you need to scan the engine with a engine scanner to see if it has any hard codes. There is a problem with the emission system somewhere.

We had the Check Engine light come on my wife's 2001 G20t at about 30-35,000 miles (currently have 57K). The conventional wisdom is that it's a Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) failure and that part can run as $400 retail at the dealer. If it truly is that problem, there is supposed to be a noticeable reduction in performance. She did not experience that - it runs fast and peppy as always. In our case, the short-term fix was can you guess?) black electrical tape on over the lit area on the dash panel! A few months ago the light went off, no change in performance, and we figured it could have been a bad electrical connection that worked itself out.

This is not to say that you should ignore thecheck engine lightr. But diagnosis at a dealer or other shop is at least $100 (all they do is plug in a computer and read the code - a real money maker.) Ususlaly you will see other problems, usually other dash lights go on, too; and watch the temperature guage. Again, we had none of these problems and I guess we lucked out.

We had a similar dash light warning for the windshield washer level sensor. the dash light went on, but the reservoir was full. We have always maintained this car very well. There is a small sensor switch near the bottom on the tank asnd I guess it would be a cheap part and expensive labor. butonce again the lgiht wnet off as mysteriously as it went on, we maintain the water level, and all is well. Sometimes these are just electrical glitches that work themselves out. Black electrical tape is much cheaper!

take off the positive cable on the bettery and turn on the key switch for 5 minuts then put battery cable back on and the check engine light should be off

You will need an OBDII scanner tool to check the codes. If you don't access to a scanner tool, AutoZone and similar auto parts stores offer a free scan.

You will need to have the codes read and reset and the cause of the problem corrected. Many auto part stores will read and reset your code for free. Or you can perches a OBD II Reader and reset it your self.

It means to look at something in a different way. for example the sinking of the ship and it crew was a real feather in the cap for the submarine crew. sen in another light one could say, the sinking of the ship and all its crew was a tragedy for those on board and family and friends that they left behind. if you have a newer car with an electronic gauge cluster with mpg, oil life, and things of that nature you can reset it through there if you know the codes....if not....gotta take your car to the dealership and have them hook it up to a diagnostic computer and reset the sensor.

You probably have a misfire; Have it checked for codes. Most likely you need a tune up.

VSC stands for Vehicle Skid Control, an automatically activated safety system on the Hoghlander that the onboard computer activates when it senses that the vehicle is beginning to skid. It is not under the drivers control. If the dashboard light stays activated it is a sign that the computer has sensed a malfunction in the system and it should be checked oput by a mechanic.

No, the headlight bulb will just not turn on. The check engine light only comes on when there is a problem with the ENGINE, not the BULB.

Typically that means that something is wrong with the alternator. If you can run the vehicle, take it to an auto parts retailer and have the charging system tested.

It is an engine misfire. Don't accelerate too fast or brake too fast. Get your car into the shop as soon as you can because it can/will cause damage to your catalytic converter.

The code that came up should have specified a location. Left, right, upstream, downstream, etc.

If the check engine light is on with no codes, you have a wiring or computer issue.

On most vehicles, the engine oil light indicates a low oil pressure condition. Continued driving with low oil pressure will damage your engine. Low oil pressure can be caused by wear (high mileage vehicle) increasing bearing clearances, stupid drivers that let Wally-World Idiot-Lube change their oil, wrong oil viscosity, oil pump failure (if on constantly), clogged pick-up tube, and low oil level.

P0743-TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID/TRANS RELAY CIRCUITS This code will set if the voltage detected on the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Control circuit at the PCM is different than the expected voltage.

If the check engine light is still on there is still a problem. When you fix the problem the light will go out by its self and the fault code will stay in the ecm as a stored code until it's reset.
