How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche?

the light above the headlamp snaps out after releasing a small plstic tab. This then will let you see two small diameter rods on top of the lamp assy. lift these up and the headlamp assy will come out inyour hands. Then the bulb replacement is obvious. P.S. use a paper towell or something to prevent the oil from your hands contaminating the new bulb. Any oil transfer will cause a hot spot and the replacement bulb will not last long.

To remove existing filter: 1. Open the glove compartment, locate and remove the spring-loaded stop cord on the right hand side of the glove compartment. This is done by slightly pulling the cord into the glove compartment then feeding it back through the hole. It is spring loaded but will park in an easily reachable position. 2. Locate and remove the rubber stoppers on each side of the glove compartment and remove by pulling them out on the leading edge and slide them toward you. 3. Swing the glove compartment door down to the floor. 4. Locate and remove the 10MM bolts one each side of the lower portion of the panel behind the glove compartment. 5. Locate and remove the Phillips head screws one on each side of the upper portion of the panel behind the glove compartment. There is also one on the lower right side.

6. Locate and remove the 10MM nut located in the center portion of the panel. 7. Carefully pull out the glove compartment panel releasing the two locking clips and disconnect the two electrical connections. 8. Remove the bottom panel by carefully releasing the two locking clips and a tab that hooks onto the front lip of the blower housing. 9. Is the Chevy Avalanche being discontinued?

Yes! I just bought an 09 AV from Andeanchevy.com in GA and they said 2011 is the final year for the AV. Perhaps a redesigned or new version will surface in 2012. They ordered double stock of the 2011 AV in anticipation of a sales rush!

Can you tow a Chevrolet Avalanche with a motor home having a Caterpillar 250 diesel engine?

probably yes. The caterpillar engine would have no problem pulling it. You will notice slight power loss because of the added load but no problem towing it. You should observe all precautions involving the automatic trans in the Avalanche. You should use a dolly or something to prevent the wheels from turning the driveline as the automatic doesn't get lube when being towed with the engine not running.

What is the door speaker size in a 2007 Chevrolet avalanche?

They are 6 1/2" speakers. However, they are specially designed to fit the avalanche door. The speakers are formed into a teardrop shaped housing. Standard round 6 1/2" speakers won't fit into this housing. You have to either screw it directly into the door frame, or you can get some adapters made by Scosche. Best buy had them.

Also, you'll have to tap into your factory speaker wires, as they won't plug directly into stereo shop speakers.

I just replaced mine, and until the brackets get here, I cut the bad speakers and their supports out of the plastic housing and sandwiched the new ones between the bracket and the door and put the screw back in. It works fine temporarily.

How do you release the emergency brake when the release cable is broken on a 2005 Avalanche?

If you look under the dash in the area above the parking brake pedal, you'll see the mechanism that fits into the gear teeth of the pedal, locking it in the down position when engaged. You'll also see the part of that mechanism where the cable normally attaches. If you depress the pedal slightly, it takes the tension off the mechanism and you can then rotate if off of the gear teeth by pushing/pulling on the part where the cable is normally connected. Then the pedal will release allowing you to slowly let it return to non-engaged position.
