How much horsepower does a stock 1990 Camaro RS V8 5.0L have?
Quote:
AnswerIt also helps that the camaros with the 5.0 (I'm not sure if this applys to V6 or for standard transmissions) and an automatic transmission come STOCK with a torque converter
Think about it, all automatics have to have a torque converter, otherwise there'd be nothing to put engine power into the gearbox
on the other hand, standards would have a clutch
sure there are semi automatics which have a manual shift and a torque converter, but this doesn't tend to be in quite the same way. and to my knowledge, no Camaro has ever used a system like this. mainly because it's a terrible way to do it, IMHO
No, I mean that the automatics have a torque converter that kicks in at 2,200 rpm (if my memory serves me) which takes the extra torque and uses a separate set of gears to crank up the speed further, which is completely different from most automatic transmission. Because the 5.0 has so much torque compared to the horse power, the torque converter really makes a huge difference. The torque converter in the 3rd generation camaros is more like the kind you would put in a standard transmission for extra kick.
yep, from that point of view, I can agree :)
although I don't know the exact specs on the Camaro, never had anything to do with one

You can replace it from top, the dpfe sensor is located under the throttle at the drivers side of the engine and it hooks on two pipes and electric connector.
You have to remove the air cleaner, MAF sensor, throttle and the throttle sensor connector to get to it. It is hidden behind few hoses and connectors so you need too look real hard.
I hope this will help you out and good luck!

How do you change an alternator on a 1997 Chevy Suburban 5.7?

Some Astro models have a switch on the door panel, right next to the window swithes that is a child-lock system for the rear doors. Look closely at the power window switch panel. If there is a rocker switch - the kind where one side comes up when you press the other side down - that has a little picture of a lock on it. Sounds like your problem. Good luck - RG open the speaker cover and remove speaker (if riveted, drill out rivet) reach inside and pull down on latch rod. reinstall speakers with screws. I had small plastic retainer that held rod to actuator break. Only one side would release. Dealer removed rear window trim, put rod back and replaced clip. This was on the "Hatch door" on model with Dutch doors. This sounds like your problem. To remove window trim, the pull handle on the inside must be removed first, then some of the screws along bottom and sides. Not necessary to remove completely if you are careful. Pull out trim so you can see down to actuator and rehook rod/replace clip.

How do you replace a serpentine belt on a 2000 Infiniti QX4?
On the 2000 QX4 you will have 3 belts. Starting from the fan blade back to the engine block, look to the left of the fan blade. There will be a tension pulley which looks like a smooth wheel with no pump or motor behind it. Release the lock on it by loosening the bolt in the center of the wheel (just until the bolt becomes loose or can be turned by hand). Above and slightly behind it is a bolt facing down that moves the wheel up or down, creating the belt tension. Loosen this bolt until the belt can be slid out. Next is a similar set up to the right of the fan blade. This will control the pulley for the 2nd belt. Finally, crawl underneath for the power steering belt (the last belt). Remove the black splash-guard to get access. Looking up on the pump, there will be 2 bolts. The one on the left, conveniently placed against the firewall, and one on the right, which mounts the p/s pump bracket to the engine. Break the tension on the right bolt so the bracket can move up and down, then tighten the bolt on the left (which commonly can be turned about 1/16 of a turn because of it's location - be patient!) Tightening will push the pump towards the engine, allowing the belt to be slid off. Replace the belts and manipulate the nuts in the reverse order of removing, inspecting that they're on the pulley correctly and in the correct place. Replace the splash-guard.
Note: When removing the belts, many of the bolts may be very hard to begin turning. Once you have broke the tension on them, they should turn relatively easy. Once you've broke the tension on the binding bolt (the center of the two pulley wheels and the bolt closest to the engine on the p/s bracket), the belt tension bolts should turn easily. If the belt tension bolts become difficult to turn, consider loosening a bit more to the opposing bolt which might be putting tension on the bracket you're moving or checking that you're not tightening the belt.
Tools required: You can complete the entire job with a metric 10,12,14 standard depth socket with a couple extensions. Also have a 12 and 14 open end wrench.
How do you replace a serpentine belt on a cadillac deville 1994?
Probably one of the most simple maintenance jobs a do-it-yourselfer can perform...
The only tool needed is a 1/2" breaker bar. To the rear of the power steering pump you will see a belt tensioner that has a square cutout that the breaker bar fits into. Pull the breaker bar towards the front of the car (or up) and the tensioner will move so you can pull off the old belt. Pay attention to the routing of the belt--make a diagram if the decal is missing from the underside of the hood! Put the new belt in place, use the breaker bar to again move the tensioner and slip the belt under it. You're done! Takes all of maybe ten minutes.
How do you remove a front door speaker grill on a 1998 Chevy Corvette?
First remove the trim from around the handle. Use a flat blade screwdriver for this. The pop the small plastic peice from behind the grab handle. There are two Torx screws there. Then you will need to POP the plastic retainers loose that hold the panel to the door itself. They make a loud snap noise but don't be scared they usually don't break. Then once the panel is loose disconnect the wire for your switches from the back side of the panel. The speaker itself has about six 7mm head screws holding it in place. Dave
