open the glovebox. on the right side there is a dampener that is attached to a little knob on the glovebox. pull it off then squeeze the sides and twist the glovebox so the stoppers can go past where they usually rest. open it up now as far as it will go without breaking anything and inside youll see an 8"x2" white plastic rectangular panel. this is the front of a small drawer that holds the cabin air filter in place. its easy to slide out and replace the filter now that you know where to find it.

How much horsepower does a 350 have?
1960's had about 300hp
1970-73 had about 300-330hp
1974-76 had about 250-200
1977-81 had about 200-175

I have a 1977 350 which only made about 175 on the dyno when I bought it. I have since then rebuilt it. I bored out .030 (355) added a new crankshaft and new camshaft and lifters from Edelbrock, aluminum heads from Dart, Long tube headers from Hooker, tunnel ram from Weiand, dual Holley 600cfm carbs, and a new oil pan from Moroso.
Added up all I am making well 569 horsepower with this set up.

I have this exact truck and based on my research, the engine option code for this particular model was LT9. Look at the sticker on the left hand side of the engine compartment. The factory ratings for this engine were done with all accessories on (full load) to give it a lower rating for insurance reasons. The engine specs are as follows.....8.3:1 compression, 160 hp@3800 RPM, 260 ft-lb @2800 RPM. Hope this helps.

96 silverado 4 wheel drive indicator light doesn't come on and it doesn't go into 4 wheel drive?
4x4 dont work your actuater is blown it needs to be change it looks like a d-i-l-d-o on the front houseing with two black wires on it.to change it you got to unscrew it and pull it out. Answer Check the fuse first. Mine blew for some reason 3 - 4 years ago, I replaced it, it has not blown since. As I recall it was a yellow 25 amp fuse. If the fuse is good the "d-i-l-d-o" will need to be replace. I believe the correct name is thermatic actuator GM used these up until '96 I believe, shortly after they quit using them because they are prone to problems. They switched to a completely electrical actuator, you will want this one if it can be put in your truck as it messes up way less often, check with your dealer for interchangeability.
