How can you rewire a washer fluid motor to just a toggle switch on an 88' Chevy Beretta?

Yes! Find the wires going to the washer switch and just use a toggle switch in it's place. If you can't locate the wires, you can just run power straight to the motor from the toggle switch. I recommend you use a spring loaded on/off toggle switch, to make sure you don't accidentally leave it in the on position.

Why does your 1989 Chevy beretta start smoking from the steering column when you use the turn signal?

because there is a short circut occurring in the turn signal switch. This is not a minor problem, as it could lead to the car burning up, or the wiring harness being ruined. Take the care to an automotive electrical specialist immediately, and cough up what they will charge to fix it. No matter how much it is, it will be far less than what ignoring the problem will cost you.

Remove the center screw below the headlight switch, and the center screw below the wiper switch. Grab hold of both switches and gently pull towards you. The plastic around the gauge cluster should unsnap from the dashboard. Unplug the headlight switch from the wire harness behind it, and remove the other 2 screws below it. Gently pull on the dimmer and outer rings. They should slide off. The switch will fall out at this point. Installation is the reverse of removal.

How do you Reset check engine light on 1995 beretta?

Resetting a check engine light without making the necessary repairs will do NO good as it will come right back on. You will need a GM Tech1 (or compatible) scantool to retrieve and earse (reset) codes from either a 1994 or 1995 Beretta. This is because GM was in a transitional period between 1993-1996 to comply with the government mandated OBD-II system. The diagnostic components in those years are a combination of OBD-I and OBD-II parts, and cannot be scanned with a standard scantool.

Unfortunately, unless you know someone with such a scantool (GM Tech1, Actron CP9150, etc.), you will need to go to a GM dealer to have your codes reset.

This can be found directly behind the battery. the fuse box will have a red power tap terminal on it's side. The cover is labeled FUSES on the top. The cover has tabs on the short ends and just lifts off, this is also where the Oil Change reset button is located, along with the power relays.

Does the radiator fan not kick on a lot you have been working on your radiator and your car hasn't overheated but you never see the fan come on?

Depends on how long the car was running. Let the car run for an hour at idle and if it never comes on, I would check the fan. It should come on at sometime. Check the relay..............I just had this problem on my '89 Beretta. DoratheExplorer

How do you disable the daytime running lights on a 1995 Chevy beretta?

Yes that's true i finally figured a way to kill those anoying daytime running lights, without doing any of those tricks that are going around,. Since nobody has ever given me a good way to permanently kill them i had to get complete wiring diagrams for all te lights from ALLDATA. These diagrams are a lot more detailed than the ones you get from the manuals.

Ok, First you have to locate your DRL module, behind the radio. there will be a lot of wire coming out of it. But we are only going to be concerned with two.

NOTE: we will not be removing this module from the vehicle due to the fact that the cars equipped with stock fog lights need this so they would still be able to work.

The two wires you need to be focusing on are the ones attached to te photoresistor. One Will Be GREEN/BLACK, the other will be YELLOW/BLACK.

You will need to cut the YELLOW/BLACK wire leaving about 3 inches conected to the module. So you have some room to work with.

Then you will need to use a jumper connection, jump the YELLOW/BLACK wire to the GREEN/BLACK wire.

now your daytime running lights should be permanemtly off. If not contact me with your style beretta and i will figure it out.

Basic principle on why this works:

your drl's work off the photoresistor (the component that detects the level of light, centered on your dash under the metal strip). this component is normally closed, (power running through it) when there is a low level of light out, either cloud cover or night time this unit opens up (no power running through it), that's why if you cut that YELLOW/BLACK wire they will permanently stay on. that is why you will need to jump it to the GREEN/BLACK wire so that there is constant power running through it. (always closed) with constant power the photoreststor cannot open up and turn on the DRL's.

You may also be able to cut both wires and splice them, but i only wanted to cut one in case i was wrong, but it worked so I'm really not worried about going back in there just to cut another wire to splice them

How do you drain fuel tank on Chevy beretta?

You'll have to disconnect all the hoses, straps, and wires on gas tank. Drop it completely out from under the car and drain it from filler neck hole.... no other way besides using brass fixture to punch hole in bottom most section of tank, but this deems it unusable.

Turning your 92 Beretta GTZ into a race car you purchased the car used and there was no owners manual you need a wiring diagram so you know what to cut when you remove un-necessary equipment Have any?

The availability of diagrams will depend on a few variables including the year of your vehicle and how much of the vehicle is factory original. For original equipment diagrams, check your local auto parts stores for repair books for your specific vehicle published by companies such as Chilton's or Haynes. You may also order or download many repair manuals and individual diagrams online. Modifications will require non-original diagrams which may be downloaded, or found through companies that specialize in racing equipment.

How do you install serpentine belt on a 1994 Chevy beretta z-26?

You have to pull the pulley up on the left side of the engine, towards the bottom of the serp. belt and then just pull it off. It helps if you start at the top of the belt and then work ur way down to the bottom. You might have to take the motor mount off to put the new belt on, I had a hard time, but I'm a girl, so that might explain the difficulties that i had. lol. Hope it helped.
