Will this firing order work on a 396 big block 12468753?

== == The firing order for the Chevrolet V-8 is 18436572.

To change the firing order you must change the cam shaft.

For example the # 1 cylinder firing can be changed with the #6 cylinder firing as long as the camshaft has be made to open and closed the valves at the proper time with each perspective cylinder.

That doesn't mean you can simply grind a cam to change any cylinder firing as each piston has to be at TDC at the time when the valves are both closed for compression and consequent firing of the gases. Good luck.

try 18436572

How much is a 1969 Chevy El Camino worth if there is a part on the dash that says Chevelle and also has Malibu written on the dash and doors it has some rust is this a SS?

Answer Not very much as this car has been pieced together from various vehicles. Does it have original rust or is it rust on other parts that have been added on. The reason I ask is that the rust on the older parts will determine the exact age of the parts versus the other parts that were added on. All of this goes to determine a price. But in '69 they made both Chevelle and Malibus. Is it the black interior, brown, or green. Green is not very desirable so that will lower the price by quite a bit because it will have to be died and some new parts added to make it all different. There is a formula that you can use to determine the price of an older car like that. They did come out with about 6 interior colors, red, blue, green, brown, black, & white. With a respective score of 4,3,2,1,5 & 6. With 6 being the highest as white is the most desirable. Then you have to rate the interior as 1 thru 4 with 4 being the best and 1 being the worst. Then you have to take the weight of the car at approx 4300 lbs. Figure a $1 a lb. for a solid car and deduct $10 a lb. for rust. So if you have a rusted out rear quarter and it weighs 40 lbs. and has to be replaced then it will cost around $400 for the quarter. This does not count labor as you have to add another $10 /lb. for that. So to have someone else fix it would cost around $800. Take that figure that you come up with and Square Root it by the fiqure that you have determined by the interior color and this should give you a ballpark figure as to what to sell it for. There is no determination for exterior colors as these usually change anyhow. GOOD LUCK!!

The easiest way to determine if it is a super sport or not is the VIN. Luckily for you, super sports were separate models and had their own VIN codes from 1966-1969, so you can easily tell from the VIN. If this was a '64-'65 or a '70 or later, you wouldn't be able to tell from the VIN alone because the super sport was actually a Malibu option in those years.

Depending on whether or not your column is tilt, this part will run you anywhere from $100-$300 depending on where you buy it.... eBay rocks, but also check out gmpartsdirect.com

How do you replace the heater core in a 1983 El Camino?

Follow your core hoses to the core to indentify it's location(should be on passenger side firewall) . You''ll have to take the top off the plastic box that holds it (consists of quite a few screws and a couple bolts). If the wipers tuck below the hood take them off or turn on your key and the wipers, when the wipers get out of your way turn off the key. Wipers that tuck under the hood have plastic stops, and might be a chrome visor at the bottom of the windshield to take off. Basically anything stopping you from getting the lid off will probably have to be taken off. The lid will also have silicon holding it, so it will pull off hard (peel old silicon off and buy some to reseal it). When you get the lid off just loosen clamps on hoses and pull them off (they will probably come off hard, and/or might also need replacing) and loosen the little tab holding the core down and it should come out. Then just put everything back the way it was, and will probably need some anifreeze after the EL has run. To remove heater core, follow hose to the firewall, inside firewall under dash is how you get the heater core out.
