A stock 1996 Impala SS came with a 5.7 Liter LT1 V8 - 260 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. It ran a 15.4 second quarter mile, and did 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds.

A stock 2005 Dodge Magnum RT comes with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 - 340 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. It runs a 14.7 second quarter mile and does 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds.

The Magnum R/T will win stock for stock every time. The Magnum R/T does NOT come with a manual transmission. Only a 5-speed automatic with the autostick function. True the Impalla can be modified and most probably are, but so can the Magnum, and then we aren't comparing apples to apples anymore. If you want to compare more similar vehicles, then lets compare a 1996 Impalla SS with a '98-'04 Dodge Dakota R/T. And yes, while the Dakota is a truck, the performance between the Impalla SS and the Dakota R/T is closer. Stock for stock, a race between an Impalla SS and a Dakota R/T will all depend on the driver. And the Dakota R/T takes to mods the same as the Impalla. Handling is also very similar.

True, the Magnum is faster. No doubt. It only took one of the big three 12 years to do so (first year of production on the Impala SS was 1994 and in their times and hp didnt change. Ive owned one of each and with a 12 year jump, don't you think that most Impala SS cars are hiding more under the hood - I'll auto cross a magnum to death in my 1996 Impala. And, to date I only have about 12K invested including purchase price(used. No I didnt wreck the 94 and 95. I sold them to friends.

The Magnum has 3 trim levels, the R/T is faster but the other 2 are not.

The Chevy can make almost as much power with intake and exhaust mods and 1.6 roller rockers. It can also be faster ( than stock ) with a different axle ratio. However, the dodge has a 5 speed tranny and it also weighs slighty less. Nevertheless, the Chevy is much cheaper even with mods and the overall performance can be made comparable to the dodge. I won't sell my 95 Lt-1 Chevy caprice wagon and I don't like the windows on the dodge.

I am sorry you guys do not own a Magnum. Just sit inside the car and enjoy the wonderful ride and trim. It is truly a luxury car/

Depends a bit on who is driving

Your cluster may be like the one in my Z71 and I have taken it apart multiple times to reseat an electrical connector and it continuously fails to maintain contact. The only likely choice is to have the dealership order you another.

The windshield washer pump 10A fuse is in a fuse box located under the hood near the battery.

Chevrolet has come out with a service bulletin indicating that the 10A fuse is inadequate for circuit operation.

Chevrolet is suggesting to increase fuse size to 15A.

Maybe the door protector is torn and water leaks through there. if that's not the case then is could be your door has an un even opening. and that is where the water goes through

step 1 disconnect neg battery end. 8mm wrench will work perfect Step 2 jack and support pass side front so you are able to remove pass side front tire .remove tire,you should see a plastic shield with two Phillips screws (plastic) remove them step 3 remove serp belt, once belt is removed use an impact to remove crank bolt.once crank bolt is removed, you will need a balancer remover tool (can rent from parts house or buy) install crank puller and use impact on bolt end to pull crank pulley off p.s. use some wd40 to help things move better and take your time good luck

WHEN I REMOVE THEM IN MY CAR, ITS TWO SCREWS. ONE ON EACH SIDE L & R, THEN LIFT SEAT ON A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. IF YOUR CAR HAS A AIRBAG ON DRIVERS SEAT MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY THEN DISCONNECT AIRBAG(SO BAG DONT BLOW). ALSO BE CAREFUL OF AIRBAG MODULE UNDER PASSENGERS SEAT WIRE MAY BE CROSSED IN SEAT MOTOR MECHANISM.

The turn signals and emergency flashers are both controlled electronically. The module is behind the emergency flasher switch and requires partial disassemble of the dash to access it There are several screws: 2 on the ends under the fuse covers 2 on the panel under the steering wheel and 2 by the odometer Gently pull the face off the dash. Don't break off the clips. A replacement is about $40 from the dealer.

You may want to check to make sure that you gas cap is on correctly, usually a check engine light mean an emissions problem. Also, if you have recently added gas to your vehicle from someplace other than your usual gas station this could be a cause as well, bad gas. what you would need to do is either get the gas out or run it and fill it up. it will usually take a full tank of gas to get the light to rurn off. if this doesn't work, then you want to take it in the a mechanic. But my repair book for my 2003 impala tells us to take these steps first.

If your 1988 Chevy Corsica key only turns in the ignition and does not start the automobile, it is probably unfixable. Remove the ignition switch retaining ring. Slide the out and remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition switch.

Pull the lever of your parking brake up a few clicks. Look inside, under the lever and you will see a length of threaded metal cable with a nut attatched. Use a deep 10mm socket and tighten cable to desired taughtness.

== == The simple answer is take it to the dealer and they can reset it. The other is to disconect the battery for 10 minutes and reconnect it. this will reset the computer. The motor will run rough for the first 5 minutes of drive time, but after all the sensors restet and re aquire the new data, it will smooth out. If the problem you had was fixed, then the light will not turn on. If you didnt fix it before the reset, then it will

Just install the new 1 and go drive it a few miles. If you are asking how to turn the check engine light off, Then you will need a engine scanner to clear the codes. Some parts stores will do it for you FREE.

Before you start the engine see if the fan will turn freely and not wobble. If it wobbles or doesn't turn it isn't any good. First though, are you sure it has a fan clutch. That would be pretty rare on a 65 model. To make sure check the front of the fan and see if it has a large aluminum piece on it. If not you don't have a fan clutch. Now assuming you do have a fan clutch and the fan shroud is still in place drive the car until it is at operating temperature. Shut the motor off and check the fan. It should only turn a couple of times before it stops when the engine is at operating temperature. Good luck.
