Why wont my 2003 Chrysler Town and Country crank but not start?

I had the same problem with my t&c, if you have the digital dash look and see if the odometer lights up when cranking. if not i swift pound on the dash right above the gauges usually works. (I found that on another help site and it worked for me)

Why does my 2003 Chevy Tracker with 20 engine die after it gets hot but restarts OK after cooling for 10 minutes?

how about checking to see if you need a new thermostat in your radiator for the first step, also make sure you have plenty of radiator fluid, also you may need an oil change, this includes your oil filter, also could be due time for a tune up, belts, as well as all other filters could cause problems in your vehicle. but if your engine is dying after its hot and okay after cooling for a few its most likely a radiator/thermostat problem.

How do you set the clock on a Chevrolet Cavalier?

Why would the oil light be flashing on a 2003 Chevy Tracker 2 days after an oil change?

I would immediately check the oil level. If you find that it is not low of oil, immediately replace the filter with a new name brand filter. AC/Delco would be my choice in this vehicle. If that does not help, replace the oil pressure sending unit.

How do you fix a VSS sensor problem on a Geo Tracker?

Hi, First, do you have a 3 speed auto or a 4 speed? If this is concerning a 3 speed auto I had this very same problem. The VSS is an iuntegral part of the speedometer on the 3 speed. The problem is in one of three places, the speedometer (not repairable, only replaceable) the speedo cable (could be not fully connected on the speedo) or the car's computer. The speed is replaceable as the whole assy, I found it a few places, the speedo cable is the easiest to check, disconnect from the transmission so you have some cable to work with then remove the instrument panel assy and check that the cable is fully connected and not broken so that the cable is not staying connected, if it's broken, then get a new cable from a Chevy dealer and it's easy to replace just start at the instrument panel first or it's an impossible task. The instrument panel assy is eaqually easy to replace, just remove the speedo cable from the tranny first so you can have extra cable inside. If it's the computer then it's also easy to replace but so far I've only found that it was the cable and the speedo. If it's a 4 speed auto then the VSS is mounted on the rear of the tranny and is not to bad to replace. Good luck. Steve H.

Why would the brakes on a Chevy Tracker squeak after your changed them?

I am a true blonde....... the item that holds the brake pad is to tight. Did you change the rotors too? did you lube the sliders? if the caliper is sticking you may need to replace more parts Also if it has the stainless steel clips that the pads rest in there could be a rust build up or dirt under the clips, remove the clips and wirewheel under there, Also i grind or file the new pads slightly where they sit in the clips to make sure they move freely so you dont have any brake drag. Hope this is of some use.

Where is the starter located on a 1994 Geo Tracker?

Hi, The starter should be located on the right side of the engine, tucked in real close to the engine. If you will look down from the battery side, you should see the starter about in a line with the front side of the battery. If the starter is not working or sometimes not working, try hitting the starter while someone turns the key to the start position...really, this works. Until you can replace the starter, this is a way to keep going. It does mean you need to replace the unit but it's only two bolts and a few wires and looks like an easy job, you need jackstands or ramps or someone tha'll let you use their garage lift. I have to do this so I've been going through the same thing. Hope this helps and good luck. Steve H.

How do you remove the cover to the third brake light on a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer?

How do you replace the driver side window switch in a Chevy Tracker?

I have the same problem. Drivers side master window switch is broken. I continue to use mine, but it doesn't always work. I think the answer is to buy a new switch. They are $300 + Canadian from the dealer....less from a scrap yard. The actual replacement is easy, carefully pry up the complete houing from the door ledge, disconect the wire hardness. Reverse to put the new one in place. I pulled mine out, the switch itself levers on a tiny thing piece of plastic, it's only a matter of time till they go. Best of luck.

I have repaired two of these by simply spraying contact cleaner on the slide switch under the driver window toggle switch. Use a small, flat bladed screwdriver to gently lift the plastic tab catches while prying the cover sideways. There is two sets of catches. Do the black one first then the gray. The window lock pushbutton will need to be pryed off as well. Be sure to realign all the toggle switches upon reassembly.

Where are the fuses located at inside a 1999 Chevy Tracker?

The fuse box is located on the driver's side to the left and above the brake pedal, you almost have to stand on your head to check it, but it is there. There is also a fuse box under the hood on the passenger side.

Can you put 225 75r15 tires on your 2001 Chevy Tracker?

Theoretically, yes you can, HOWEVER, your speedometer will need to be recalibrated, as with the larger tires, you will be going faster. The original tires on a 2001 tracker I believe are 205 75 r 15, so if you are travelling 55 mph on your speedometer with 225 75 r 15, you will actually be doing 57.4 mph. Not really a big deal, but if you get an overzealous police officer radaring and you are doing 60 in a 55 zone, you will actually be doing 62.6 mph and it may get you a ticket, fines and higher insurance rates. If you used a 225 65 r 15 or a 255 75 r 14 tire (unfortunately meaning a smaller rim size and more cost for new rims), you won't have to recalibrate your speedo, but you will lose some tire height by going with the 65's, which is what I'm going to assume you are after by going to the larger tire. Also, watch for larger, wider tires rubbing on inner fender wells during sharp turns too, it's an easy way to get premature tire wear. Hope this helps!

Where is the reset switch for the Service Engine Soon light on a 1998 Chevrolet Tracker?

I have a 1998 tracker and have had a lot of emission problems. Resetting the SES will not resolve the problem, if there is one. The light will come back on after about 50 miles. To reset the SESyou can go to an auto parts store and some stores will reset for free. Or, you can disconnect your battery, then reconnect it. This is a momentary thing and merely takes a few seconds. Remember to reset your interior clock. If you live in an area where emissions testing is mandatory, you might try a suggestion to the mechanic who will fix your problem to pass the testing. The first time I needed emission repairs, I had 53,000 miles and it cost me over $700. They .could not find the problem..My mechanic called GM's homeoffice hotline and was told that there has been (to date) 500 or so 1998 Trackers with the same problem. There is a tube that is 10mm in diameter that runs from the firing chamber to the cat. converter. It gets clogged with carbon. They will not accept this as a design flaw. By the way, when I was told there were 500 known Trackers with this problem, it was in 2002. Since then I have paid for repairs two more times at $190 each. To rub salt in my wound, my SES light came on again last week (10-15-2008) with 121,354 miles on the car. This has been the only problem with my 1998 Tracker. This vehicle has been good to me. How do you change tail light bulb in 2001 Chevy Tracker?

if its the same as a 2000 tracker: 1/ open the tailgate 2/ remove two Phillips screws 3/ pull the brake light assembly away from the vehicle with a rocking motion [the assembly also has two moulded plastic pins to line everything up] 4/ don't lose the gasket 5/ twist the lower light socket counter clockwise and pull it out... the bulb is a 7443 that just pulls out of the socket

Where is bank 1 oxygen sensor on 2002 Chevy Tracker?

In a V6 bank one refers to the passenger side of the engine (locaiton of cylinder #1). Bank two refers to the drivers side (location of cylinder #2). There are two sensors per side. All are located in the exhaust manifolds. Both manifolds have a sensor just below where the exhaust ports collect and one at the end of the manifold right after a small catalic converter. The top sensors can be accessed from the top the bottom ones from below the vehicle. All are pretty easy to get to.
