again the tow capacity for a 4x4 2002 Chevy tracker is 1500lbs but you should not tow anything without a transmission cooling system which you can purchase from your local uhaul company, if you tow with your tracker without the cooling system you will fry your transmission and damage your transfer case.

Who carries a rightside tail light assembly for a 2003 Chevy Tracker?

You can try a junk yard or the Chevy parts house. It may be a special order part in which case it'll take a couple of days for the Chevy dealer to get it. Try a junk yard first, call before going on a treasure hunt.

Open the hood and you will be looking for a transparent cylinder shaped contaner near the top of the engine compartment on the drivers side. That part is called the master cylinder resivor, it holds most of your brake fluid. There should be a cap on the top that you can open and add fluid if needed.

How do you replace the timing belton a 1995 Geo Tracker?

Remove the radiator and the clutch fan , Then remove the belts .You will have to loosen Alternator and the A/C compressor to do this . On the crank pulley there is 5 small bolts (8mm) around the inside of the pulley. Take them out . Then remove the pulley . Take the bolts out of the Timing cover and remove it . Under it you will find the Timing belt . It has a Tenisioner that has to be loosened . FIRST if possible align the timing marks . before removing the belt . This can be done by turning the large bolt that is in the end of the crank. . But if the belt is broken or damaged . Align the bottom pulley key way with the mark on the oil pump 12:00. . and the top pulley with the notch in the metal plate that is behind the top pulley . 12:00 . Install the belt. Then tighten the tensioner. reassemble in reverse order

What type of oil leaks are normal on a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker?

It isn't normal for the oil to leak on any vehicle. It can lead to major problems, including a damaged engine.

How do you replace the serpentine belt on a 2000 Chevy Tracker 4x4 2.0L engine and AC?

Use a wrench to relieve the preasure off of the belt then remove the belt and replace it using the schematic on the fan shroud. If it doesn't have one draw one before taking the belt off. Don't rely on memory.

Looking at the front of the engine there are two idler pulleys; using a 14mm wrench/socket turn the idler pulley closest to the alternator/power steering pump from 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock this will release the tension on the belt.

How do you replace the speakers in a 1997 Geo Tracker?

If it's the front speakers, then it's a simple operation. The grills need to be poppoed off, a screwdriver at the edge and lift up, then the speaker is held in by one Philips head scew (don't lose the small clip the screw goes into) and the speaker lifts and the harness is unplugged. Replacement is simply the reverse. The rear speakers are a bit trickier. The front seatbelt bezel needs to be moved out of the way. The side panel needs to be removed, there are panel removal tols but if you're real careful, youcan gentl and carefullt remove the panel by prying it off from the side and disengaging the panel clips, then it's just a matter of removing the speaker screws and removing the speaker, unplugging the harness. Replacing is the reverse except if you want to put larger speakers in. If larger ones are needed then you might need to cut the fiberboard and use a larger trim ring but if it's metal then I'd just simply replace with a 4 inch speaker. With all the speakers, you probably need to remove the factory harness end and either hard solder the new one in or get a plug and socket from an electronics store and use those for the harness Now a good stereo to with it all...hmmmmm. All of this supposes a bit of mechanical and minor electrical ability.

How do you remove a door panel on a 2002 Chevy Tracker?

If its the same as a 2003 lxt sport tracker, should be a screw in the little pocket thing and a screw behind the handle. the handle is snapped in by plastic and has a string to hold it to the opening mechanism that needs to be taken off. then just use a screwdriver to pry the bottom clips off. the panels are all held on by plastic snaps that break easily, get ready to solder them back on or go to Canadian tire for some little plastic bits. when u pry a couple clips off just pull the panel up and over the lock button.

What is the ground clearance of the Chevrolet tracker?

Other sites I read said the Chgevy Geo Tracker in 2 wheel version has 7.5 inch ground clearance with standard 195/75/15 tires, and the 4 wheel drive models have 8.3 inches of ground clearance (same as a Wrangler JEEP) with the standard 205/75/15 in ch tires. Having read lots of blogs, others say that the tallest tire that can go on the Tracker without modifications is a 235/75/15 inch tire...And the standard 205/75/15 is 27.3 inches tall, with the 235/75/15 tire being 29 inches, the 235 is only 1.7 inches higher than the 205, with only half that height reflected in more ground clearance- so real improved height is only 1.7/2=.85 inch higher, but with a tire that barely fits and almost rubs without any bouncing, and I imagine might rub through any rough terrain. For comparisonI asked about using the 30-9.5-15 inch tire is close to the 235/75/15, which is similar height but is slightly wider, and Les Schwab dealer here said he did not think it would fit on without rubbing. The Les Schwab dealer I just talked to said they installed the 235/75/15 on a Tracker last week, and was a VERY tight fit, but does go on without any lift or fender touching. This is whjat I have gathered, and own a 1993 Tracker 4x4 soft top. Enjoy...

When and how should you change the timing belt on a 2000 Chevy Tracker?

Do you have the owner's manual that came with this vehicle? Look through the maintenance intervals section, it will show you. If not then some vehicle manufacturers recommend changing it whenever the front brake pads are changed @ 30,000 miles, and still there are other vehicles which can go 100,000 miles before the timing belt needs changing. The 2.0 4 cylinder does not require any timing belt maintainance. The belt on the 1.6 should be changed at 60K.(that engine is only used in the 2 Dr). I'm not familiar with the v-6

What causes a squeak in the windshield wiper motor not the blades?

Mine does the same thing..it's coming from the motor/drive assembly. I disassembled it and lubed the heck out of it with white lithium grease but it still squeaks. The motor is bolted to the firewall on the passenger side. When I get a moment, I will attempt the repair a second time. My wife and I were on a long trip recently and the wipers (I thought) started to squeak extremely loudly. I replaced the wipers, not even thinking it could be something else, and the noise still persisted. When we got home I lifted both wipers from the windshield (should have done this in the first place) and the noise was still present. It turns out the noise is coming from the nylon/plastic pivot mount that the wiper arm is connected to. The shaft that is inside this mount connects the main drive arm linkage to the wiper arm. I too have tried to lube this point but it is extremely difficult to get lube into. If you can pull up on the bottom of the pivot assembly (as if trying to push the shaft out of the mount) it will open a small gap into which you can just barely get some lube into.

What is the cause of headlights that don't turn off on 1998 Windstar?

I had water leaking at the base of the windshield on a Ford F-250. It would run down the inner firewall onto a control module causing lights, blower fans and all sorts of wierd things to turn on with no key in the ignition and the vehicle not running.

If dash lights aren't coming on in a 2000 Chevy Tracker could it be as simple as a fuse or does it need to go to the mechanic?

the first thing that a vehicle owner should always check first is the fuses. the mechanic (depending on where you go) may try to charge you for additional work and parts. i know ,i used to be one.
if changing the fuse works then you ok but if it blows again you have a short somewhere and you gonna have to go to a mechanic.
