What are Korean Jacks?

Korea's version of the game commonly known in Western cultures as "Jacks", is called Khongi. Khongi can be played by one person or as a group, where people will play a round after the previous person loses. The basics of khongi are as follows..

a player is given 5 little hollow, plastic shapes (usually shaped as cartoon animals), which are filled with some sand for weight. They are about the size of one's thumbnail.

The person rattles them up in his or her hand like dice, and tosses them onto the floor. Then they have to pick one up and throw it in the air and pick one up from the floor with the same hand before catching the airborne one again with the same hand. once all 5 have been picked up through this process, the player starts over, but now moves on to throwing one up in the air, and picking two up. The same process happens. Then they move on to 3 and 4. After four, the person holds all five in a fist, tosses them in the air, and tries to catch all of them on the back of their hand. If all 5 are caught, the person wins technically. If fewer are caught, or none, the person is not considered to have lost, but, they haven't won either. I guess all that you get when you "win" is a sense of accomplishment, just as in most other childrens' games. There are some people who are extremely skilled at this game and move faster than the speed of light. But again, they just end up with that same sense of accomplishment. It's quite an addicting game though.

What was the Cooee march?

1915, recruiting committees were formed in nearly every town throughout Australia. In the central west of New South Wales a movement began which became known as the "Gilgandra snowball". Under the leadership of Mr W.T. Hitchen, 20 or so men who had determined to enlist marched to Sydney, gathering other recruits along the way. This was known as the Coo-ee march and comprised about 300 men by the time the contingent reached Sydney. Their example was soon followed by other marches from around New South Wales and Queensland: Waratahs, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Dungarees, Men from Snowy River, Kurrajongs, Kookaburras, Central West Boomerangs and North Coast Boomerangs. The total of men who marched was only about 1,500 but some historians consider the marches successful in influencing many other men to enlist. Twenty six men left Gilgandra on 10 October 1915 on the 'Cooee March', led by the Captain of the local rifle club, William Thomas Hitchen. At each town on the route the marchers shouted "cooee" to attract recruits and held recruitment meetings. By the time they reached Sydney just over one month later on 12 November, the numbers had swelled to 263 recruits, marching a total of 320 miles and being welcomed by large crowds along the way. The Cooee Festival commemorates the famous 1915 Cooee March. After the Gallipoli disaster and the first casualty lists were published the number of Australian men enlisting to go to war dwindled. In an attempt to change this trend, thirty-five men set out on a recruitment drive from Gilgandra to help in the WW1 effort, calling out "Cooee" to encourage men along the way to come and enlist also.

How do you fix the sliding door on a Chevy Lumina The fuses under the dash are all ok but the door will not open?

Assuming that we are talking about the power sliding door, thenall the GM minivans and some others as well have a similar problem. The Lumina APV, Venture, Montana and Silhouette use a solid state control board unit inside the door to control opening and closing from inside, outside, remote key etc.

The problem is that every time the door is shut it takes a vibration pounding and eventually a crack appears on the printed circuit board.

This is a major headache as you have to dismantle the inner door cover and take the board out.If you are good at finding and fixing tiny circuit board cracks, this is sometimes repairable, BUT, usually it is just replaced. The cost is ridiculous - about $700.00 here in Canada.

Many people just decide not to bother with the powered part of the door operation.

New AnswerI also own a Chevy Lumina APV 1994 and had some work done which required the battery to be disconnected when returned the sliding door no longer worked I found out that if you diconnect your battery and reconnect it the sliding door will again work why I don't know but you may want to try this first its alot cheaper.
